What a great resource! Thank you DCMH for looking out for our youth!

One in 215 kids has an undetected heart condition. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a life-threatening emergency, often occurring with no warning signs. SCA can impact anyone who may seem healthy, including children and teenagers. A cardiac screening can detect underlying issues and provide crucial health information.

Register your child for a cardiac screening on July 28 at DCMH's Health Connect, located at the Decatur County Family YMCA . Thanks to the collaboration of the MCORE Foundation, Giving Hearts A Hand and DCMH, this screening is available for only $20. Spaces are limited--register today!

Well…Decatur County week 3 of the Wellness War was a close one. Unfortunately for us, Ripley County squeaked out with the win. For this weeks “penalty” our Health Department Board of Directors had to join the “Board of Shame”. See their excuses and note their sad faces. They won’t miss out on participating any more!
We appreciate theirs and your support as we continue on to week 4! And BRING home another win for Decatur County.
How can we support you in your wellness?

Over the past two days, five of our staff members participated in CRAFT Facilitator Training and successfully completed the program today!

Our team is continually seeking new training opportunities to better serve our community and ensure the safety and well-being of the residents we support. They consistently go above and beyond, bringing new ideas, skills, and innovative approaches to their work at the Health Department. Their dedication, care, and compassion are truly appreciated and do not go unnoticed.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Links Tavern for providing an amazing taco bar for Tuesday's training lunch, and to Tree City Brew for the delicious pizza and breadsticks that fueled our team today. Your generosity helped make these training days even more special.

We are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive community. Time and time again, our local businesses and community partners step up when we need assistance, and we are grateful for their continued support.

Congratulations to our staff on completing their training, and thank you to everyone who helped make these two days a success!
