With all the rain we’ve had, we’re reminiscing about drier days!
Check out this video from local farmer, Tom Stewart, who was strip tilling into cover this spring.
Strip-till is a conservation tillage system that tills only the narrow, 6- to 8-inch-wide strips where seeds will be planted, leaving the residue-covered soil between rows undisturbed. The undisturbed residue controls erosion and suppresses weeds. It's a conservation farming practice bridge between no-till and conventional tillage.
