Crews worked the rescues with:

Special Thanks to those companies and our seamless work together on incidents we’ve never trained in together.

Also Special shout out to Westmoreland County D.P.S. and PS43 Walters for their strong work and organization.

⚠️ TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN ⚠️

Hempfield Fire Department crews have responded, and continue to respond, to multiple flooding and water rescue related calls. Please take this seriously.

It takes just 6 inches of moving water to knock an adult off their feet, and 12 inches to sweep away most vehicles. If you come across a flooded roadway — DO NOT attempt to drive or walk through it. You cannot judge the depth of the water or the condition of the road beneath it.

🔹 Never drive around barricades
🔹 Never attempt to cross flooded roads
🔹 If your vehicle stalls in rising water, get out and move to higher ground immediately
🔹 Call 911 if you or someone else is in danger

Every water rescue puts our crews and our neighbors at risk. Help us keep everyone safe.

TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN. It could save your life.
