A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 pm EDT for eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia. While severe thunderstorms are possible through the afternoon, this timing graphic shows the primary squall line thunderstorm timing when the final severe threat moves through. Timing for final squall line through the Pittsburgh and Wheeling Metro areas is about 7 pm EDT.

Last night was the Zone 2 EmergEX Tabletop Exercise in Washington Township!

Over 45 first responders, local emergency management coordinators, and elected officials came together for an important, tabletop exercise focused on how they would respond to and recover from a fire and explosion at a facility.

A big thank you to Chief Tantlinger for facilitating a great session. Our goal is to bring these exercises directly to our communities because preparedness starts with strong partnerships, and effective response depends on coordination.

Stay tuned as we continue taking EmergEX on the road across Westmoreland County!
