We had a very special incentive at today’s review session.

A few weeks ago, one of our participants, Chris, shared with Judge Mears that one of his hobbies was collecting sports memorabilia and said his most prized piece was a Dick LeBeau card.

Who knew that one of the judge’s life-long friends, Scott Brown, co-authored Mr. LeBeau’s autobiography!

Judge Mears was able to secure a personalized/autographed photo and presented it to Chris for his efforts. What a great incentive and awesome addition to his collection!

Interestingly, Scott Brown also authored a book about the opioid epidemic and some of the families affected specifically in Westmorland County titled ‘Hope & Heartbreak: Beyond the Numbers of the Opioid Epidemic’. He was kind enough to speak to the group and left copies of the book for the participants.

His generosity and kindness is greatly appreciated.

There was blood (a little), sweat (a lot) and tears (maybe when Tony stepped in the muck) at our group community service project at PAL Norwin today. We painted, fixed fences, dug drainage ditches, and cleared a ton of brush and jaggers!

Extraordinarily proud of our participants, staff and family for giving back in an exceptional way.

Drug Court truly does change our participants!

One of graduates, Cierra, initially had quite a rocky relationship with her PO.

It was wonderful to experience her growth through the program and the evolution of their relationship is amazing. Her gratitude today was evident to all of us!

As Lauren put it:

It was very touching to hear her talk. I am truly proud of her and no one expected our relationship to be where it is today. It’s a very rewarding experience. We truly do care even though it may sometimes be tough love.

At today’s graduation, we surprised Judge Bilik-Defazio with a special Tony Marcocci award for her years of commitment to the program.

Several of her prior graduates came to the ceremony and it turned into a great photo op!

Congrats, Judge! And thank you for everything you have done (and continue to do) for the program

Another powerful graduation ceremony completed! Congratulations to our 6 graduates. We wish you all the best!

Sometimes funny things happen when you hold court on Halloween!

One of our participants came dressed as a Judge and was treated to some bench time with Judge Mears!

We hosted a group of students from a criminal justice class at Seton Hill University during our review session yesterday. They had a lot of good questions and insights and got a photo-op with Judge Mears after.

Quite a packed courtroom!
