April 17th through April 21st, the Greensburg Police Department, along with other Law Enforcement agencies across the state, will be participating in the 4/20 campaign. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. If you are impaired, please have a designated driver so everyone can make it to their destinations safely.

Fortunately, the resident was alert and knew she had not been in Kansas City so she did not scan the QR code. If you have a question about something you receive, contact the Police Department or Kiowa County Sheriff's Office and we can help. The Greensburg Police Department would like to thank the City of Greensburg Street Department employees for painting the crosswalks on Main Street near the Kiowa County School and Senior Center. This helps with the safety of all of our residents who walk across the street in these locations and makes the street look a whole lot better. Thanks guys.

April 1st through the 22nd, the Greensburg Police Department is participating in Battle of the Badge. This program helps support the Family Crisis Center, a domestic and sexual assault advocacy center in Pratt. The Family Crisis Center also covers Kiowa County. If you would like to donate any of the listed supplies, just drop them off at the City Hall between 8:30 and 4:30. The Family Crisis Center will pick them up from there. Thanks for supporting local families in need.

Between February 23rd and March 6th, 2026, the Greensburg Police Department, along with other Law Enforcement agencies from across the state, will participate in the KDOT and SAFE program focusing on teen drivers and their passengers. Officers will be patrolling the school zone prior to and after school looking for teens that aren't wearing their seatbelts. ANY person not properly restrained WILL be issued a citation. Make sure you buckle up and get where you are going safely.

The Greensburg Police Department will be participating with other Kansas Law Enforcement agencies in the New Year's Taking Down DUI STEP mobilization campaign scheduled December 26th through January 2nd. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers so if you are drinking, be a responsible driver and don't drive.
