🚨🚨OVERDOSE CALL LEADS TO DRUG AND GUN BUST….MAN ARRESTED!🚨🚨

🚔This morning, the Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit arrested CHRISTOPHER PATRICK CARL.

Carl initially encountered Police on May 9th after a dispatch call for a suspected overdose came in. Penn Township Police Officers responded to a cemetery where it is alleged that Carl was found unresponsive. Prior to Police arriving, EMS arrived and administered Narcan. When Carl regained consciousness, he got into his vehicle and fled.

Penn Township Police and Manor Police then began looking for Carl’s vehicle. He was ultimately located a short time later and was displaying signs of being under the influence.
Carl was taken into custody and his vehicle was seized. He was released from custody later that same evening.

A couple days later, Penn Township Police executed a search warrant on Carl’s vehicle. Police located a number of items that included a stolen firearm, stamp bags containing suspected Fentanyl/Heroin, pills, suspected ma*****na, suspected psilocybin mushrooms, cutting agents and a variety of drug paraphernalia. A warrant was issued for Carl’s arrest.

Over the past couple of days, the Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit and the Penn Township Police worked together to track Carl. This morning, after conducting surveillance, they positively identified Carl walking down a sidewalk in New Kensington. Sheriff’s Deputies had a brief struggle with Carl when he resisted arrest, but he was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Magistrate where he was denied bail.

👏🏻Great cooperation between the Penn Township Police and the Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit in locating this wanted fugitive.

🚔Today, several members of the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office proudly participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

Our deputies helped raise money to support Special Olympics athletes across the Commonwealth and ran 3.1 miles today to promote awareness and inclusion.

The “Flame of Hope” begins its journey in Pittsburgh and is carried by law enforcement officers over the course of three days across Pennsylvania before arriving in State College to kick off the Summer Games.

We are honored to be a part of this incredible tradition and to stand alongside the athletes, families and supporters who make Special Olympics such an inspiring organization.

Great job to all who participated today! 🔥🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
