What a wonderful surprise! Little Free Library #33634 was one of the libraries selected by the Little Free Library organizers to receive a bundle of banned books published by HarperCollins. The books, which are among those most often under attack in libraries and school districts, are out on the shelf just waiting for readers--it's a great day for a walk in the neighborhood, so come on by. Many thanks to HarperCollins for identifying and publishing the books that need to be part of the literary landscape, and to the Little Free Library movement for making books part of the actual landscape.

Exercise your right to read! For the next week Little Free Library #33634 will be filled with nothing but banned and challenged books (bonus: each book comes with a bookmark and an explanation of where and when it was challenged or banned). Make no mistake--book banning has become a recruiting tool for deep-pocketed conservative groups with a much larger agenda than just what's on the library shelves. Read up and speak out.
