Crews from AFD did their yearly water rescue training this week and enjoyed some water play too. Thank you to YMCA Camp Weaver for allowing us to use their facilities. We enjoyed the multi company drill with Mt. Hope Fire Department as well.

1 week away!! We can't wait to see everyone!

Oink, oink! It's nearly time for the much-anticipated Alamance Fire Department Barbecue!

For many decades, stalwart members of the Fire Department have roasted pork low and slow, shredded cabbage and added dressing for coleslaw, and dropped cornmeal batter into hot fat to make fresh hushpuppies -- all to serve to hungry customers, and thus to raise funds for humanitarian purposes.

Funds raised by this annual community event are used throughout the year, to help local families in the event of a house-fire or other emergency.

The food is delicious, the company of your friends and neighbors is delightful, and your contribution to the betterment of our community is deeply appreciated.

As is right and natural, the pigs are served roasted, chopped, with sauce on the side. Take-outs of a full supper are available. Ask at the door if there are any quarts of 'que and bottles of sauce for sale.
