Greetings everyone, the Guilford Young Republicans will be having our September meeting this Wednesday September 28th at Natty Greene’s Brewing Company in Greensboro NC, from 6:30-8:30pm. We typically used to reserve an entire room but due to the size of our group we’ll just be seated at a table so look for some friendly faces. This meeting is going to be a little different than most because we will not be having a featured speaker. Instead the featured speakers will be the Guilford County Young Republican membership. This meeting will act as planning session for our groups mission statement and political objectives. Something we are lacking as a group is clear political/legislative objectives that we find valuable as YRs. I hope that everyone thinks about topics that are important to them that they can bring to the table this meeting. Ultimately I would like to agree on a short mission statement, maybe 5 sentences and a short list of 3-5 legislative objectives. Remember not all objectives need to be new legislation some of the most productive political actions can be eliminating legislated restrictions.

Examples:

1) Full school choice in NC with a proposed tax credit

2) Legislation banning vaccine mandates

3) Tightening restrictions on welfare

4) Rewarding small businesses that hire employees that stay hired for more than 1 year

5) Tax cuts for the middle class

6) Lowering the cost of concealed carry application and renewal from $90/$70 to $15/$15

7) Banning massive corporate home buying by companies like black rock

8 ) Treating ma*****na like alcohol
