Creative Greensboro, in partnership with little independent theatre, Scrapmettle, and Shared Radiance Performing Arts, will hold auditions for the second annual โ€œSonnet Fest,โ€ featuring creative performances of Shakepeareโ€™s Sonnets numbers 52-104. Auditions will be held at 7 pm on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, in the Stephen D. Hyers Theatre at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St.

Performers of all ages, experience levels, genders, ethnicities, or racial identities are welcome to register for an audition at www.greensboro-nc.gov/departments/creative-greensboro.

The Greensboro Department of Transportation has installed temporary traffic-calming measures along Josephine Boyd Street between West Gate City Boulevard and West Florida Street. The project is part of the Cityโ€™s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, which is focused on community-driven solutions for reducing speeds and traffic volumes on local residential streets.

The temporary traffic-calming measures will remain in place through the fall while traffic patterns are monitored and evaluated.

The Norway National Football Team (Fotballandslaget) may be thousands of miles from home, but they were eagerly met by a full house of supporters wearing red and waving small Norwegian flags during a community training session at UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium yesterday.

Norway's best footballers are calling Greensboro home at the moment, as the City operates as the team's official training base camp during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Access to the Eugene Street Parking Deck from Eugene Street is currently closed due to nearby private construction. However, the deck remains open and can be accessed via Bellemeade Street, which operates as a two-way street during regular business hours for easy entry and exit.

Please note that during Greensboro Grasshoppers home games, access at the Eugene/Bellemeade intersection will be restricted. Alternative access to the deck will be available using Edgeworth Street to reach Bellemeade Street.

These changes are expected to last through summer 2027. Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow posted signage when accessing the parking deck.
