We are thrilled that DUCKie Julie Peebles (co-supervised by Janet Boseovski and Stuart Marcovitch) has been recognized with a Judge’s Choice Award at the UNCG Graduate Research Showcase for her Master’s thesis presentation, “’My Body Does So Much for Me’: How 8- to 10-year-old Girls in Dance Feel About Themselves and Their Bodies’”

📚Beyond Body Positivity shows moms how to harness the mother-daughter relationship to help their daughters build healthy body image and foundational wellness behaviors beginning early in life and through late childhood (3 to 10 years of age), a period when key developmental milestones take place.

Please join us in congratulating DUCK Lab Co-I Dr. Jess Caporaso for winning the Undergraduate Research Mentor Award for professional track faculty!

In addition to mentoring several project students each semester, "Dr. Cap", as she is affectionately known by hundreds of our psychology undergraduates, has done an outstanding job in creating our current advising system, which has been adopted by other departments.

Dr. Jessica Caporaso in the Department of Psychology has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the UNCG Thomas Undergraduate Research Mentor Award in the professional track faculty category.
