| At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to make Friday, May 1, an optional teacher workday. Thousands of educators from across the state have planned to go to Raleigh to request change from state legislators on education issues, citing the recent N.C. Supreme Court decision regarding education funding and the lack of a state budget. Because of the number of instructional hours included in the district calendar and our use of remote learning days during the winter, this day will not need to be made up. ACES will be closed to students.

Students at AMS were given paper assignments. Teachers will be available by email for any questions!

| Because of the potential for hazardous weather, Guilford County Schools will operate remotely on Friday, Dec. 5. Students should check Canvas for their assignments. ACES and afterschool activities are cancelled. Thank you and please be safe.
