Our team was honored to have been recognized as a role model for grant reporting, monitoring, and accountability... complete with detailed documentation, strong outcomes, and real client success stories. Grateful for the opportunity to serve Guilford County with excellence and integrity. Huge thanks to fellow team members Belinda Sledge, our Accountant & Book Keeper, as well as to Nicholas Campbell, Tech Support & Grant Coordinator helping us stay on track and in compliance through the years. We are aware of a video circulating online of an incident in the parking lot of Lowe's Home Improvement on East Cone Boulevard earlier today. The Guilford County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (SERT) was responding to an ongoing narcotics-related investigation. Neither ICE nor the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) were involved.

The incident is ongoing and there is no further information to share at this time.

🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT: ICE IS IN NORTH CAROLINA: ICE has been reported to be in Charlotte, off the highways, in supermarkets and in City's around North Carolina.

To protect yourself and your family, ALWAYS carry:
✅️ Your original ID, Green Card, Work Permit, Driver's License, Passport Card, Work or School ID
✅️ A copy of any pending or approved immigration notices;
✅️ Emergency contact numbers of your Immigration Legal Representative and a Guardian to call to pick up your kids or notify your family if you get picked up;

Keep original document at home in a safe place but have copies in your phone and on you of your:
✅️ US Passports
✅️ US Naturalization Certificate
✅️ US Birth certificates
✅️ Original immigration documents

DO NOT carry:
❌ Fake papers
❌ Expired foreign IDs
❌ Anyone else’s documents

⭐ Remember: You have the right to remain silent, the right not to open the door without a warrant, and the right to call a lawyer.

⭐ Do NOT give foreign passports to police unless required to do so: A foreign passport can be used to speed up deportation.

⭐ Parents should keep *Copies* of everyone in the family documents together in case ICE separates family members. (Children’s birth certificates, School information, Emergency guardianship plan, Notarized Letter Authorizing Temporary Care for trusted family/friends if parent is detained, All court records with dispositions for arrest, Power of Attorney (so someone can access your bank for money to pay bills, act on your behalf in either financial or healthcare matters, withdraw funds, and make investment decisions like buy or sell real estate, manage property, or pay lawyers in your absence and help make decisions for you till you sort out your matters with immigration)

📢As fireworks fill the sky and flags wave in celebration, we ask: Who gets to feel truly free in America today? 🇺🇸✨

For the past six years, Jalloh’s Upright Services has celebrated the Fourth of July by honoring immigrant and refugee youth — their stories, their strength, and their rightful place in the American dream.

But this year, we write with heavy hearts.
Our beloved Immigrant Youth Festival has been silenced — not by lack of support, but by fear, surveillance, and unjust federal policies that target the very people who call this country home.

Families in Greensboro and across the U.S. are living in fear of raids, separation, and discrimination. Even naturalized citizens are being treated as less than — called “aliens” in a nation built by immigrants.

We share this open letter to remind Greensboro and the nation: true freedom isn’t real until it belongs to all of us.

Read it. Share it. Stand with us. Let us show the world that in Greensboro, we choose courage over silence, unity over fear, and love over hate.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

We strongly encourage all parents of U.S. citizen children to secure passports for their children as soon as possible. There are concerns circulating about potential policy changes under the incoming administration that may impact the ability of children born to foreign nationals to obtain U.S. passports for international travel.

To ensure your children's ability to travel freely, please prioritize completing their passport applications without delay. The process is straightforward, and all necessary forms are available online. You DO NOT NEED legal representation for this and should be able to do it on your own. However, if you have questions or anticipate challenges, such as obtaining consent from the other parent, please feel free to reach out to me for guidance and support.
