Kelly Dawson speaks about why NCCJ's work matters to her. And, how inspired she is by Anytown volunteers who return year after year.

This week marks the 40th year of Anytown. The camp has impacted multiple generations of North Carolinians -- we estimated around 6000 people have attended Anytown!

As NCCJ enters its 90th year in 2027, our mission and focus remains critical: change begins with a conversation.

🌟Your support makes this work possible. Thank you! And if you want to support our work, we welcome it! (Link to donate in bio)

The first two days of Anytown have been filled with new friendships, meaningful conversations, laughter, and plenty of fun. Our students are building community, learning from one another, and showing up with curiosity, courage, and open minds.
We are so proud of this incredible group of young people and can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings. 💙

Dispatches from the mountain: for 40 summers, Anytown’s host site has welcomed us. Staffer Martha Shore estimates she’s experienced at least 64 Anytown sessions. She often speaks to the remarkable impact Anytown has had on her. Last night, she literally rolled out the red carpet for us! We are so grateful for the support of our host site. They help make this magic happen. Anytown doesn’t just change the lives of those who attend — it impacts those who witness it. We are 40 years strong!!! 💪

Dispatches from the mountain: as we enter the second day of Anytown (Session 1), the delegates are learning more about each other, learning songs, and having powerful conversations about identity and belonging.

It is hard to describe the impact of Anytown. For many of our delegates, they feel seen. Here at Anytown, their lived experiences are valued and considered important.

There's still space for the July Anytown session (July 12-17).🙌🙌🙌 Link in comments!
