At last night’s June 4 meeting, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners honored the life and legacy of Jordan Alexandria Pearson, a proud daughter of Greensboro whose compassion, leadership, creativity, and love for community touched so many. Presented by District 7 Commissioner Frankie T. Jones, Jr., the resolution recognized Jordan’s impact as a young entrepreneur, community leader, and rising professional in the motorcoach industry, as well as her service with synerG and the Greensboro Jaycees. Though her life ended far too soon, Jordan’s spirit, kindness, and commitment to making Greensboro stronger will continue to be remembered with gratitude.
The Board also proclaimed June 2026 as Pride Month in Guilford County. Presented by District 6 Commissioner Brandon Gray-Hill, the proclamation affirmed the county’s commitment to equality, inclusion, and freedom from discrimination for all residents. Guilford County is proud to recognize the contributions of people of all backgrounds and encourages residents to continue building a community rooted in respect, understanding, dialogue, and equal rights for all.
The Board also recognized the Grimsley High School Men’s Tennis Team for winning the 2026 7A North Carolina High School Athletic Association Men’s Dual Team State Championship. Presented by District 4 Commissioner Mary Beth Murphy, the resolution celebrated an outstanding 19-1 season, a conference championship, the team’s highest statewide RPI ranking, and Grimsley’s first team state title since 1996. Congratulations to Head Coach James Krege, Assistant Coach Kent Lovett, the student-athletes, families, and supporters on a historic season that brought tremendous pride to Grimsley High School, Guilford County Schools, and our entire community.
