Happy Friday!

Governor Roy Cooper has signed House Bill 196 into law allowing North Carolina notaries to resume Video Notarizations. The new Emergency Video Notarization law extends video notarizations through December 31, 2021.

The Video Notarization law had previously expired on March 1, 2021, prohibiting notaries from continuing to perform video notarizations. With the extension, Video Notarizations may resume.

The two most common notarizations requested by customers are ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and JURATS. But not everyone knows the difference between these two acts.
