This month we’re celebrating the retirement of Coyle French and Theresa Phillips!

Coyle French, our Public Works Street Supervisor, is wrapping up 10 years with the City.

Theresa Phillips, our IT Clerk, is closing out an incredible 17 years of service.

We recently got together at City Hall to celebrate them and recognize the years they’ve spent serving our city and our people.

📢 ATTENTION GREENSBORO RESIDENTS & PROPERTY OWNERS

The City of Greensboro now has a Code Enforcement Officer actively working throughout our community.

We are asking all residents, landlords, business owners and property owners to take a look at their properties and address any issues that may need attention before enforcement action becomes necessary.

🏡 Please remember:

• Keep grass, weeds and vegetation maintained.
• Remove trash, junk, rubbish and debris from your property.
• Address unsafe, abandoned, burned or severely deteriorated structures.
• Make sure your house or building number is clearly visible from the street. This is especially important for police, fire, and emergency medical personnel trying to locate you quickly.
• If you are planning construction, demolition, installation, placement of a structure, major renovations, or other regulated changes to your property, contact Greensboro City Hall BEFORE beginning work. An application, permit, or approval may be required.

⚠️ Property owners who receive notice of a violation will be expected to correct the problem within the time allowed. Failure to comply may result in citations, fines, or other enforcement action as authorized by applicable law.

Our goal is compliance, not citations. We want to allow our citizens to take care of their properties and help us keep our community looking its best.

A BIG upgrade for a cleaner Greensboro!

The City of Greensboro has officially received its new boom truck!

With our previous truck out of commission, debris and limb piles had begun accumulating faster than our crews could remove them. This new equipment gives our team the capability to get caught up and get Greensboro looking clean again.

You’ll soon see this truck making its way through neighborhoods and tackling those piles one by one. It won’t all disappear overnight but we now have the equipment to get the job done.

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making this possible and to our crews who will be putting it to work!

Throughout August, City of Greensboro employees joined in Mayor Howard’s City of Greensboro Spirit Month, bringing a little extra fun and pride to the workplace each Friday.

From Greensboro Pride Day and Western Day to Community Unity Day and today’s Hometown Spirit Day, our team showed up and represented the city, the organizations we love, and our hometown schools.

Here’s a look back at some of the faces and moments that made Spirit Month special. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the month a fun one across City departments.

The City of Greensboro is collecting unopened soap, shampoo, and toothpaste to include in care packages for sailors serving aboard the ship.

Donations may be dropped off at Greensboro City Hall during regular business hours.

Thank you to everyone who helps us send a little care from Greensboro to those serving away from home.
