Greensboro Public Library Welcome to the official page of the Greensboro Public Library, your Conduit to Destinyยฎ! A library card is required for computer use.

Central Library is located in the heart of the cultural district, between the Greensboro Historical Museum and the Cultural Center. Library customers have access to more than 100 computers with internet access and many with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). The computers are available first-come, first-served, for two-hour time slots. The first floor offers a large and inviting

space for children and a Popular Library offering fiction, audio books, music CDs, DVDs and a Reader's Advisory Desk. The second floor contains nonfiction, the North Carolina Collection, the Business Collection, Career Services, past issues of magazines, and an information desk staffed by professional reference librarians.

Community partners and City agencies โ€“ including the Greensboro Public Library, Creative Greensboro, Greensboro History Museum, and Greensboro Parks and Recreation โ€“ will host a number of events to celebrate Juneteenth. Events will include live music and performances, food, art, educational programs, wellness activities, and family-friendly programs.

The festivities begin on Thursday, June 11, with the Juneteenth: Freedom, Health, and Community event at the Glenwood Branch Library, 1901 W. Florida St, and continue through the Juneteenth Gospel Interfaith Celebration and Rhythm & Praise After Party at Barber Park on Sunday, June 21.

Scientist and author, Dawn Cusick, will share from her adventurous books "Animals That Make Me Say Ouch!" and "Animals That Make Me Say Look Out!".

Do you know how to use a sewing machine but don't have one? Then come by for the next meeting of the Open Sewing Lab, held on the second Monday evening of each month! ๐Ÿชก

Come by at the beginning (5 - 5:30 pm) for a refresher course on sewing machines to help you get familiarized with our machines!

Sewing machines will be available on a first first-come, first-served basis. Some supplies, like thread, will be available, but we encourage you to bring your own. This is intended to be a self-guided program.

Learn about and experience the benefits of meditation and mindfulness on the mind and body.

Sessions will begin with a brief discussion of the modalities of meditation, mindfulness, and Reiki along with their impact on the body and value in stress management. Through a combination of self hand placements and group Reiki flow, participants are guided through a 20-30 minute meditative state. Periodic takeaways will include tips and tools to enhance personal practices. ๐Ÿง˜
