Dangerous heat returns to most of Massachusetts this Tuesday and Wednesday. 🌡️

Plan ahead to stay safe:

• Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade. 🌳
• Wear light-weight, light-colored clothing. 👕
• Know the signs of heat-related illness and call 911 for emergencies. ☎️
• Never leave pets or children alone in a vehicle. 🚗
• If possible, avoid spending time outdoors in the afternoons, when temperatures will be highest. ☀️

Heat is expected to stick around for a few more days with some potential pop up thunderstorms. Don’t forget our furry family members need hydration and cool temps just as much as you do out there.

6/29/26 - Hazardous heat to go from Wednesday through Friday, including temperatures over 110 degrees on Thursday and Friday. Areas of NH are under an Extreme Heat Watch. Thunderstorms with hail possible late week.

6/18/26 - There is an increased risk for strong to severe thunderstorms and localized flash flooding today. Daily chances for scattered showers and a few storms continue Friday into the weekend with breezy conditions on Friday and Saturday.

Sullivan; Merrimack; Strafford; Cheshire; Eastern Hillsborough; Interior Rockingham; Coastal Rockingham; Western And Central Hillsborough

A very dry air mass and breezy conditions will combine with dead
and dry fuels such as grass, leaves, and twigs to create the
potential for uncontrolled fire spread across southern New
Hampshire today. This afternoon, relative humidity values will
decrease to low levels between 20 to 25 percent. At the same time,
northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with frequent gusts to 30 mph will
continue to dry fuels and increase fire spread potential. Wind
gusts are expected to diminish later this evening with increasing
relative humidity values.

Extra caution should be taken to prevent wildfires. Always consult
with fire officials before engaging in any open burning
activities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Never leave an open fire unattended and always extinguish
campfires completely before leaving.
