Arctic cold is here through the weekend. Another major storm possible for Sunday. Please take this time to stock up supplies, clear your heating vents both interior and exterior, and be a good neighbor and make sure your elderly and disabled neighbors have whatever help they may need.

Follow these fire and carbon monoxide safety tips while keeping warm during the upcoming snowstorm.

*Use generators outdoors with at least 20 feet distance from any windows and doors.
*Remove snow from around any exhaust vents.
*Keep snow and ice three feet away from fire hydrants.
*Safely clear your roof of ice and heavy, wet snow.

If you do not have heat in your home after a storm, go to your nearest warming center. You can find this by calling 211 or your local fire department's non-emergency line. Protect yourself against frostbite and hypothermia.

12/29/25 The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) has been activated at Enhanced Monitoring level as of 10 a.m. to closely monitor potential impacts from the ongoing hazardous weather. Under Enhanced Monitoring, personnel from our agency are staffed in the SEOC to provide situational awareness and immediate support should communities require assistance.

Fast-moving rain storm hits Thursday and Friday, with gusts over 40 mph possible. Winds from the south can lead to more tree damage than normal as our winds generally come from the northwest. Temperatures to drop below zero Friday night. Snow is possible over the weekend. Please plan accordingly. 🌧️🌬️❄️
