Yesterday at the BBBS National Conference we had the honor of learning about Café Momentum Atlanta! The Café is a fine-dining experience with a mission. Most staff at the restaurant are justice system-involved youth who might not have access to typical workforce opportunities. Chef Josh Lee provides mentorship to youth and a chance to experience real world workplace development.

We are grateful to have a chance to learn about the different ways mentorship makes a difference at places around the country, and would like to thank Bloomerang for making the evening possible!

Thank you to District Attorney Anthony Gulluni's offices for this vital grant! Making sure volunteers are safe to work with local youth starts with a background check. This funding will help us cover the baseline expenses of initial background checks for up to one hundred volunteers, and we couldn't be more grateful!

Congrats to the Class of 2026!

Between our community and high school programs, we have both Littles and Bigs to celebrate this graduation season.

Recently, one of our case managers received the following email from a parent with a child in our Northfield Mount Hermon program. We loved it so much that we got permission from NMH and the family to share it with you:

"Thank you again for coordinating our attendance at NMH graduation. The running hug Aaron gave Blake after brought tears to my eyes. Afterward Blake said, "Thank you Mom for bringing me. I'm really going to miss him." Aaron was crying when he said goodbye.

Aaron truly has made a life-long impact on Blake and I couldn not be more appreciative of their two year mentorship. Thank you Aaron. Thank you Abbe. Thank you BBBS. Thank you NMH."

Congrats to Aaron, and thank you NMH, Blake, his family, and Aaron for letting us watch you grow together these last two years!

Partners like Eversource make it possible for us to pay for all the work that goes into making sure children in our programs have a safe mentor. From background checks, to interviews with family, ongoing support and a host of other services, we couldn't do it all without supporters like Eversource.
