Meals on Wheels of Hancock County is a nonprofit medically tailored meal delivery program in Indiana. Weekend meals delivered Fridays. mealsonwheelsonline.org

Serving Hancock County residents who wish to remain in their homes and communities yet need help with daily meal prep. We prevent food insecurity and provide peace of mind with daily check-ins. Meals delivered Mon through Fri, with the exception of major holidays. Available short-term (10 days min) or long-term. Option of 2 to 5 days per week. No age limit or income restrictions.

For some homebound neighbors, a volunteer may be the only person they see all day. That brief visit helps ensure they are safe, well, and connected to their community. 🍽️

Hannah joins us during our 25th Anniversary year as our new Program & Volunteer Coordinator working directly with our volunteers and clients to coordinate services, support our volunteer program, and keep the compassionate care and connection at the heart of our mission.

🍂 Fall is here, and a few simple changes around the house can help older adults stay safer and more independent.

❤️🏡
Here are 3 fall safety tips to keep in mind:

👣 1. Clear walkways of rugs, cords, and clutter. Keeping floors and pathways open can help reduce trips and falls.

💡 2. Add grab bars and good lighting in bathrooms and on stairs. A little extra support and better visibility can make everyday movement much safer.

👟 3. Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes, even indoors. Good footwear can provide better balance and help prevent slips on smooth floors.

A Licensed Social Worker who has worked with older adults, Kelli says: “I’m passionate about supporting older adults by helping them remain connected, independent, and engaged in their communities… I hope to use my professional experience, community connections, and passion for serving older adults to help further the mission of Meals on Wheels and make a meaningful difference for B the clients we serve.”

Her experience advocating for older adults and connecting them with resources will strengthen our mission in real, everyday ways. Welcome aboard, Kelli!

Beyond the hot meal itself, what stood out most was how much they looked forward to the volunteers’ visits that daily connection meant as much to them as the food did.”
