Meals on Wheels of Hancock County Meals on Wheels of Hancock County is a nonprofit medically tailored meal delivery program in Indiana. Weekend meals delivered Fridays. mealsonwheelsonline.org

Serving Hancock County residents who wish to remain in their homes and communities yet need help with daily meal prep. We prevent food insecurity and provide peace of mind with daily check-ins. Meals delivered Mon through Fri, with the exception of major holidays. Available short-term (10 days min) or long-term. Option of 2 to 5 days per week. No age limit or income restrictions.

For 25 years, Meals on Wheels of Hancock County has been doing exactly that. Showing up at front doors. Showing up with a warm meal. Showing up with a smile, a quick conversation, and a reminder that someone cares.

But behind every meal delivered is a community that decided no neighbor should feel forgotten.

This wasn’t the episode we planned.

Long before today’s routes, volunteers, and thousands of meals… there was a simple idea:

No one in our community should feel forgotten.

This article reminds us where it all started — a small, self-supported effort driven by people who cared enough to show up. Over the years, that commitment has grown into something bigger than meals. It’s become connection, independence, and a lifeline for neighbors across Hancock County.

What hasn’t changed?

The need. And the people willing to meet it.
