This week, firefighters from across Hancock County came together at the Greenfield training facility for coordinated live fire training.

Crews trained in realistic basement fire conditions, focusing on hose advancement, coordinated fire attack, primary search, and Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations. These evolutions are designed to replicate the challenges of below-grade fires, where limited access, heat conditions, and low visibility demand disciplined, high-level performance.

Training alongside our automatic and mutual aid departments strengthens our ability to operate seamlessly on the fireground and ensures that when our community calls, they receive a coordinated and effective response.

We appreciate the opportunity to train together and continue building the skills that keep both our firefighters and our residents safe.
