Govco inc. is under contract to build 3 new bridges for Adair County this year and they just recently finished up the first one.

The N11 Lincoln bridge near Stuart was previously restricted to 15 tons. The old timber bridge was replaced with a 30' steel beam bridge with a concrete deck.

Total cost for this project was $218,207.15, paid for with TIF bond proceeds.

Herberger Construction Company, Inc. wrapped up work on the N7 Eureka bridge last month. The new concrete slab bridge replaced a weight restricted (3 ton) timber/steel bridge that was well past it's useful life.

The cost of this project totaled $774,289.73, paid with Local Option Sales Tax funds. We also utilized Hungry Canyons (State) funds to help offset some of the cost of the rip rap that will help prevent future erosion/soil loss.

REMINDER

Hwy 92 between Bridgewater and Fontanelle will be closed for a bridge replacement project starting Monday, April 6th. Closure is expected to last until September 2026. A signed detour will be in place.

Slow and steady

Elder Corporation is doing base stabilization south of Orient. This process involves a big mill that mills down 12" and incorporates water and Portland cement with the existing rock and soil then it's compacted and trimmed. After it cures, the process makes a very strong base ready for asphalt pavement.

(Another) HEADS UP

Adair-Union St. will be closed to through traffic one mile west of Hwy 25 and Orange Ave. will be closed to through traffic one mile north of the Adair-Union County line for a culvert replacement/paving project. The closure starts today, March 17th, and we hope to have the roads back open by the end of April 2026.

December deck pour 💪

The guys at Herberger Construction Company, Inc. got it done yesterday while we had some warmer weather. A little over 250 CY's of concrete were pumped onto the deck which is reinforced with about 62,000 lbs of epoxy covered reinforcing steel (rebar). That's well over 1 million pounds of material to make up this bridge deck.

Gus Construction Co. Inc. finished up this box culvert a couple of weeks ago near 150th St. & Lewis Ave. The new box replaced a low water crossing that required frequent maintenance and repair. The concrete culvert will be a low maintenance, long term solution.

Total construction cost for this project was $229,019.97 paid for with Local Option Sales Tax funds.
