Happy Pet Rock Day! In honor of today, we want to education you on stone and gravel sizes. When completing a job like us, you need the right materials. Stone and gravel help determine how your project will look, perform and drain.
Here’s some stones that we use:
#57 stone is one of the most common stone you will see. This is a popular size for residential driveways
#8 stone is versatile. This stone is great for bedding for pipe trenches because it ensures proper drainage and prevents settling. It’s great for drainage systems because its permeability allows water to flow freely.
#1 stone aka riprap. You might have see riprap and said “that’s a nice boulder.” They are! Riprap is used to protect shorelines, slopes, and structures from erosion by absorbing the energy of water and waves.

Isolated storms will diminish early this evening, then more isolated storms will be possible northeast overnight into Saturday morning. Additional storms, some possibly severe, will be around Saturday afternoon. Saturday will continue to be hot, but cooler and less humid air moves in for Sunday and Labor Day.

Saturday will be hot for most of central Indiana with heat indices near 105 degrees again. A cold front will bring chances for thunderstorms, both early in the morning and again in the afternoon. Isolated severe storms with damaging winds are possible in the afternoon.
