Previous years we have been able to raffle off grills, wood splitters, face cord of wood, a ton of rice coal, liquor baskets, chainsaws. ❤️🚒 From all of us at the Fire Department & Squad..

Today, we want to take a moment to thank the entire Henry’s family for 40 years of serving and supporting our community.

Henry’s has been so much more than a local business. It has been a place where people gathered, friendships were made, stories were shared, and our community came together. Through all those years, you have always supported us as a department and stood behind our firefighters and the work we do for our community. That support has never gone unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for it.

We are truly saddened to see the doors close, but we understand that sometimes life brings us to difficult decisions. While Henry’s may be closing its doors, the memories, friendships, and impact you have made over these 40 years will remain a part of our community for generations to come.

To Bert, Jackie, Daron, and the entire Henry’s family — thank you! ❤️

The Chenango County Office of Emergency Services will be hosting a Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) course starting Tuesday September 15, 2026. This course will be held at the CCOES Training Center located at 50 Prentice St. Norwich NY.
Pre-registration is required.

Please use caution coming into the Town of Coventry this afternoon. We have crews along 206 helping with a funeral procession.

Around 2pm we will have 206 at Nursery St shut down for a brief period to allow the funeral procession access into the Cemetery.

Rest easy Chief 🖤❤️🖤

Our hearts are with the Casterlin family during this difficult time of loss. Chief Ricke passed away Monday night from a very difficult battle. He was a fighter and never gave up!. Always there when you needed him without a doubt! Ricke will be truly missed in the department. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers!. Rest easy Chief the crew has it from here! ♥️🙏

Public Service Announcement
The Chenango county D.P.W will be closing county road 9 in the town of Greene on Wednesday June 3rd between Stien Road and Page Road to do a culvert replacement. The closing will be from 7 a.m to 2 p.m. the closer will be between box 787 and box 741. The public should find alternative routes durning this time. The employees of the Chenango county D.P.W thank you for your cooperation while this work is completed.
