We would like to thank the Indiana Dept. of Corrections, along with their inmate workers, who designed and built this amazing new table for our squad room. The project was ultimately spearheaded by Lt. Riley Houghton whom reached out to an old friend at the DOC, requesting assistance in creating the table.

To quote Lt. Houghton;

"For me I wanted to do this as more than just a piece of furniture for the squad room. It was meant to serve as a symbol of brotherhood, tradition, and shared purpose within the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Throughout history, tribes, warriors, and communities have gathered around a common table or fire. It is around those places that stories are shared, lessons are passed down, hardships are carried together, and brotherhoods are formed.

Law enforcement is no different. Deputies spend long hours together, face difficult situations together, and carry burdens that most people will never fully understand. Those shared experiences and hardships create a bond that goes beyond simply working the same job.

I wanted this table to be something that gives back to the department and to the men who work here every day. The engraved seal in the center represents pride, commitment to the community, and the tradition of service that each deputy becomes part of.

My hope is that when deputies gather around that table, whether after a difficult call, during training, or simply sharing a meal or conversation, it serves as a reminder that they are part of a team, a brotherhood, and a profession built on service, sacrifice, and loyalty."

Two Suspects Arrested Following Investigation into Suspicious Activity and Stolen Vehicle

PUTNAM COUNTY, IN — On May 18, 2026, Putnam County Deputies were dispatched to a report of two suspicious individuals parked on private property west of Limedale on County Road 300 South.

Prior to deputies arriving on scene, the suspects fled the area in a red pickup truck. Deputy Tyler Lohr responded to the victim’s address and quickly obtained descriptions of both the suspects and the vehicle, along with the direction of travel.

Law enforcement officers immediately began searching the surrounding area. Within minutes, Deputy Derek Tomaw located the suspect vehicle concealed behind a private business. The vehicle had been abandoned with the door open. Through the subsequent investigation, deputies determined the pickup truck had been reported stolen out of Monroe County.

Law enforcement personnel conducted an extensive search of the area and utilized aerial drone support from the Putnam County CERT Team. Both suspects were eventually located hiding at a nearby residence and were taken into custody without incident.

The following individuals were arrested:
• Ricardo Duque Acosta III, of Westfield
• Krisdeona Elizabeth Parrish, of Bloomington

Following medical evaluations, both suspects were transported to and booked into the Putnam County Jail. They are currently being held without bond on preliminary charges of:
• Auto Theft
• Residential Entry

Putnam County Sheriff Jerrod Baugh would like to thank the observant citizens who reported the suspicious activity and provided photographs and CCTV images of the suspects. Their assistance played a significant role in the swift identification and apprehension of those involved.

The Sheriff’s Office also extends its appreciation to the following agencies for their assistance during the investigation:
• Greencastle Police Department
• Indiana Conservation Officers
• Indiana State Police
• Putnam County CERT

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Good Evening Putnam County!!

As promised, we would like to share some information about the incident that occurred yesterday near Limedale. If you follow the local chatter pages, you probably heard about the suspicious activity and heavy Police presence.

Earlier that morning, Putnam County Deputies were dispatched to a call of two suspicious people parked on an individual's property, near the area of Limedale. Just prior to our arrival on scene, the suspects had fled in a vehicle. Deputy Tyler Lohr arrived at the victim's address and was able to quickly interview them to obtain more information on the suspects. Deputies patrolled the area and were able to locate the vehicle, hidden behind a business. The vehicle was abandoned and the door open. In Law Enforcement, we call that "a clue". Something isn't quite right here. Through our investigation, we were able to quickly determine that the vehicle was likely stolen from a nearby County. Deputies, City Police Officers, State Troopers and Conservation Officers searched the area extensively. We also utilized the Putnam County Cert team's drones for aerial coverage. Eventually we located both suspects hiding at a home nearby. Both suspects were apprehended and charged with multiple offenses, including; theft (multiple counts), residential entry, theft/possession of a stolen vehicle and operating while habitual traffic violator. Both are currently lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

We would like to thank our observant citizens that not only reported suspicious activities, they also provided us with photographs and cctv camera images of the suspects. Because of these images, we were able to quickly identify and verify who we were searching for.

People will often ask us; "what helps Law Enforcement best during investigations?" Photographic and video evidence is clutch. It helps us identify suspects quickly. It gives us leads to search for and follow up on. It also puts the suspect at the scene of the crime. Those home camera systems many of you utilize to protect your private property, are a HUGE asset to Law Enforcement Investigations.

Your vigilance and ability to provide quick detailed information put Law Enforcement on the right track. Law Enforcement combine that information with thorough investigations and patrol work to find, arrest and jail criminal suspects. That's how we keep the community safe. By working together.

Have a great evening Putnam County. Stay dry and stay safe. Call us if you need help! 😉😉

Just a quick reminder that it's Box turtle season. Your friendly Conservation Officers would like to remind you that it is illegal to collect Box turtles............... oh and it's also illegal to collect Box turtles while dancing in the road while in possession of methamphetamine........🤨🤨

Eastern Box turtles are long-lived, slow to mature and have few offspring per year, and may not be collected from the wild. Indiana Conservation Officers arrested an individual in Harrison County who was dancing in the roadway while carrying this box turtle, and in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The turtle was released unharmed near the area from which it was removed.

Just a reminder; this is all the water it takes to cause a vehicle to hydroplane. You can't see it to well, but there is about an inch of water and it is flowing pretty fast. This is on SR 243 just south of county road 1050 south. We had a vehicle run over that, at about the speed limit, lost control and then crashed head on into a large downed tree. Thankfully no one was injured.

We also have areas in the county that are flooded MUCH deeper with fast flowing water. DO NOT GO THROUGH THEM!!. It's not worth risking yours or your family's life. Find another route home.

Be safe out there Putnam County and Slowwwwww down plz. 🐢🐢

Hey y'all,
We just put a video up about a scam going around. It's an old scam with a new weird twist....

Text version below:

It seems we have someone impersonating our very own Detective Doug Nally. This scammer is calling and telling people that they have a warrant for their arrest.......... for missing a paternity test.......🤨🤨

As per usual, the dead giveaway is the fact that they want you to pay off the warrant by gift cards, apple cards, bitcoin, venmo, and other forms of non-standard payment.

Things to remember:

-- We DO NOT call people, tell them they have a warrant and then demand they pay by gift cards.

-- If you have a warrant for real, you get to have a meet and greet with us!! 🥳🥳 !! Then wear our shiny handcuffs..... 😲😲 !! Then ride in our fancy squad car to the jail!! 😖😖 !!
