⏳What if one box could take you back to 1838?

Inside is the Indiana Asbury University Order of Exercises, 1838, the earliest item in the collection documenting a public event on campus, along with early photographs and sketches that help bring DePauw’s earliest history to life. [Collection Number: DC365]

Today's the day to view historical film footage in the Tenzer Viewing Room 008 (lower-level of the library) from 9-5pm. We've digitized a handful of films as part of our 75th anniversary. Relax, come and go as you please!

Join us in commemorating the 75th anniversary of DePauw Archives! To celebrate, we will be taking you on a behind the scenes look of various archive items.

Today’s random pick: a pair of senior “cords” (corduroy pants) created by Ronald K. Holmberg. Holmberg graduated in the class of 1954 and was an economics major. These pants celebrate many of the organizations and experiences he had while on campus.

Stay tuned the rest of the semester to see more items. See the cords in person from 4-7pm tonight during our open house!🎉

This photograph titled, "Dragon Dance" was taken by Wilbur Fisk Walker (class of 1868) around Beijing, China between 1890-1907. Walker was appointed as a Methodist missionary to North China in 1873. He remained in the position until 1906, returning to Indiana in 1908. To all those celebrating, happy Chinese New Year!

Things We Do: Preventative Care

We provided a stable environment for this World War II-era medical kit after surface cleaning. We used acid-free materials for its storage and created a mechanism for ease of future handling.
