Join us on June 4 at 6 PM to hear Putnam County historian Larry Tippin speak about the Grand Army of the Republic - the fraternal organization founded by and for Union veterans of the Civil War. The organization was active between 1866 and 1948 when the last National Encampment took place. Putnam County had, at one point, seven GAR posts - in Cloverdale, Putnamville, Roachdale, Russellville, Greencastle, Bainbridge, and Portland Mills. Come learn more about what these posts did for the families of Civil War veterans here in your hometown.
