Putnamville Correctional Facility was excited to welcome Good News Ministries as they shared the inspiring work happening at their Boys Academy. Their 145 acre campus gives inner city teens a fresh start through education, skilled trades, and daily spiritual support—helping them build strong, successful futures.

Inspired by their mission, our PLUS unit came together, held fundraising efforts, and proudly donated $1,000 to support the incredible impact this program has on young lives. We’re beyond proud of our PLUS participants for stepping up, giving back, and making a real difference in our community! 🙌

Big congratulations to Paige Passmore on her promotion to Caseworker! 🎉

Paige joined the Indiana Department of Correction in August 2024, and has already made a strong impact as a Correctional Retention Specialist. She’s built excellent communication and leadership skills, shown unwavering support for staff, and contributed to the department’s mission in meaningful ways. She has also been a huge help to the Training Department, teaching multiple Pre Service Academy courses.

Paige takes pride in building connections, supporting others, and stepping in wherever she’s needed.

When she’s off the clock, she enjoys spending time with the people who matter most, loving on her dog, and taking trips whenever she can. ✨

Paige is excited to begin this new chapter as a Caseworker — and we’re excited to see all she’ll accomplish! 👏

Big congrats to Kurtis Broyles on his promotion to Caseworker! 🎉

Kurtis began his journey with the Indiana Department of Correction in August 2017, serving in Maintenance at both Putnamville and Wabash Valley Correctional Facilities. Over the years, he’s strengthened his communication, teamwork, and time management skills — always stepping up to get the job done.

He finds genuine joy in helping others grow and achieve their goals.

Outside of work, Kurtis loves spending time with his wife and kids, and getting out on the water to kayak.

Congratulations Captain Henry!

Congratulations to Capt. Jamie Henry for being selected as the Division of Workforce Engagement’s Employee of the Quarter. Henry was recognized for his work with the monthly Search Practicums at Putnamville. He puts a lot of planning into the day and ensures there is adequate staff to accommodate the program. Henry places a priority on staff safety above all else and leads with passion and commitment. Thanks for all you do to assist our staff in learning their jobs.

The Hamilton Center picked up 25 beautifully refurbished bicycles from our Shifting Gears Program here at Putnamville Correctional Facility, made possible through our ongoing partnership with Bike Garage Indy and Nine13 Sports. Moments like this truly highlight the power of collaboration and second chances. Knowing that these bikes will provide someone with a reliable means of transportation—and a little more independence—reminds us why this work matters. It’s an honor to give back to our community in such a meaningful way.
