Update on Steve Thompson: He completed his first round of chemo on 5/21. It was certainly not easy. Chemo is hard, some days are good and some days are very very bad. Today he had bloodwork (specifically the tumor marker Ca-19) and me with the oncologist . To say his stress was high would be an understatement. For reference, the blood test Ca-19 is a tumor marker for cancer and the normal range is 0-37. Dad's number measured 4,437 on 4-24 prior to the treatment. Today, it was 1,600 after ONE round of chemo! God is good! He will start round 2 on Thursday 5/28. We are praying he tolerates this round a bit better and his numbvers keep going down. We love you Dad/Grampy!

This update is from Steve's daughter Kate

We encourage all of our classmates and friends to keep praying for excellent results from this next round and for strength and support for Steve and his familly. cml

From Steve Thompson's daughter, Kate.
This is by far not the post I was expecting to make 5 weeks after Dad's whipple surgery with tumor resection but here we are. Today it was confirmed that the cancer has spread into the liver. To say this is devastating and heartbreaking is an understatement. At this point, he will be starting a two drug chemo regimen to slow the progression the next week or so. His words to the oncologist today were "give me the tools and I am beating this". If there is anyone who can, it's him. At this point we are praying God sends us a miracle and he will be able to tolerate the chemo, continue to gain weight and slow down the progression or eliminate it.

As a class, we will continue to pray for Steve and send him all of our love and good vibes. cml

Yes, it has been 55 years since our graduation from high school. This is a "save the date" for a reunion, Saturday September 12, 2026 at the Owls picnic grounds Waynesboro. This picnic is our only reunion. There will not be a Friday night or Saturday night event, only Saturday afternoon. At this point, we are planning the picnic from 2pm-6pm. We are working with hotels to block rooms at a good rate for our classmates who are coming from out of town. This, we expect, will be for rooms booked before July 31. We are also working with a few caterers for the best menu at the best price that fits our needs. We are also working on entertainment.

There are NO. mailings planned. We are using email addresses, our page and word of mouth by you.

If there are any special requests for detailed info as we get closer, we will be happy to mail or call.

Questions and/or suggestions can be made by calling Joe O'Toole, 240-446-5631 or Cindy McCarney Leckron, 717-375-5291.
