This Saturday from 10am - 12pm at Wooster City Park, our community will gather once again for our annual Memorial Ceremony, always observed on Armed Forces Day. It is a time to honor every man and woman who has ever served, sacrificed, and stood in defense of our country.
This year, we will pay special tribute to the Pattons & Havens families, to whom we have recently lost; one of 4 founding families to the City of Wooster and the other whose family was 1st here before any other that immigrated after the Civil War. Their service, their legacy, & their roots in this community run deep and we will honor them with the respect that they deserve along with many others we hold close in our hearts.
We are grateful to welcome back Faulkner County Womens' Chorus Group, Conway Armory Arkansas National Guard, former Faulkner County Judge, Command Sgt Major Jim Baker, U.S. Army Nat'l Guard, Ret, our own District 12 Justice of the Peace, David Meeks, Ceremonial Bugle playing of "Taps" by Stephen Cohen, Pastor Zackary Gibbs of Soul Food Cafe Mission, Sue Miller with Greenbrier Quilting with Friends, a Master Quilter and Friend to Very Many, Emily L Harris, who is responsible for coordinating this event for the past couple of decades because of her very deep compassion that she has for mankind and how important it is to honor those who have sacrificed for us, so that we can continue to live "in the land of the free and the home of the brave".
We are also proud to introduce, for the first time, Mackey's Catfish will be onsite with lunch and homemade desserts.
We invite every resident, families, neighbors, and friends to join us. YOUR PRESENCE MATTERS. YOUR PRESENCE HONORS THEM.
YOUR PRESENCE IS THE GREATEST SHOW OF RESPECT WE CAN OFFER. PLEASE HELP US FILL UP THE PARK THIS YEAR. LET'S STAND TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY THAT REMEMBERS.
