Somehow I went from being all caught up on Friday to welcoming Monday with 62 cases.
Though it doesn’t come close to fitting into my clipboard, there’s plenty of room for it in the Tahoe.
Hello Monday! Let’s get this show on the road!🤣🤣🤣

This Memorial Day Weekend I’m sharing this prayer written by the late Jesuit priest, Father John Veltri, S.J. May you all have a blessed and safe weekend.

Gracious God, on this Memorial Day Weekend, we remember and give thanks for those who have given their lives in the service of our country. When the need was greatest, they stepped forward and did their duty to defend the freedoms that we enjoy, and to win the same for others.
O God, you yourself have taught us that no love is greater than that which gives itself for another.
These honored dead gave the most precious gift they had, life itself, for loved ones and neighbors,
for comrades and country – and for us.
Help us to honor their memory
by caring for the family members
they have left behind,
by ensuring that their wounded comrades are properly cared for, by being watchful caretakers of the freedoms for which they gave their lives, and by demanding that no other young men and women
follow them to a soldier’s grave
unless the reason is worthy and the cause is just.
Holy One, help us to remember that freedom is not free.
There are times when its cost is, indeed, dear. Never let us forget those who paid so terrible a price
to ensure that freedom would be our legacy.
Though their names may fade with the passing of generations, may we never forget what they have done.
Help us to be worthy of their sacrifice, O God, help us to be worthy.

It’s not an uncommon situation where someone is arrested for Domestic Violence and the victim obtains an Order of Protection while the arrestee is in jail.
I’m always grateful for a good working relationship with Pima County Sheriff’s Correctional Staff. In most circumstances I can make an advance phone call to let them know I’m on my way and have the inmate brought down from where they’re being housed to the intake area. This cooperative effort is very time saving on my end and the working relationship between agencies is always appreciated!

This video was taken after the fact and not at the time I actually cleared the home. It’s extremely rare to execute an eviction where the property is left in the clean condition this house was…clean and empty with no debris or filth.
Every home and every Defendant is different, nothing can ever be assumed or taken for granted. There is open area with rooms on three sides of the staircase with almost 340 degrees to watch. Now imagine it cluttered with furniture, other household belongings and refuse. This gives true meaning to the phrase, keeping your head on a swivel.

I’m sure by now that most everyone has seen this scam going around. If you haven’t though, you can take a look here. I woke up to this in a text message this morning, there’s nothing legit about this. It’s unfortunate there are people who fall for this crap, particularly those who are elderly or vulnerable.

It’s terrible to read about another Law Enforcement Officer’s loss of life over an eviction.

: A detective with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office was shot and killed after an eviction notice was served in Porterville Thursday morning, according to Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux.

Officials say the detective leaves behind his children and wife, who was four months pregnant.

This post is courtesy of Mohave County Constable, John Deese. I don’t think I could have said this better myself. Thank you Constable Deese for helping to put this into context for the many who don’t understand our jobs and what we do.

Let’s be real… most people don’t think about the Constable’s Office.
Until something goes wrong.
When someone needs to be served a protective order…
When an eviction has to be carried out…
When a court order needs to be enforced…
Nothing happens until a Constable shows up.
We don’t work behind a desk.
We show up in person—often in tense, unpredictable situations—face-to-face with people who don’t want us there.
Under Arizona law (ARS 22-131), Constables are responsible for executing the orders of the court.
That means real enforcement. Real risk. Real responsibility.
And while performing our duties, we operate with peace officer authority—because these situations can turn dangerous fast.
Here’s what most people don’t realize:
This position is elected, not appointed.
That means we answer to the public—not politics, not departments—you.
Bottom line:
If court orders aren’t enforced, the justice system doesn’t work.
And that responsibility falls on the Constable.

Oftentimes I am impressed with the geographical enormity of my precinct, a perfect mixture of the country and city. The diversity between the people and terrain are a benefit in my book. As always, I’m grateful to hold this office and thank my voters for keeping me here!

It’s not too often I do an eviction at a place of this caliber. This Defendant is currently incarcerated for violently assaulting another resident who lived in the same complex. It’s been 34 years since I’ve lived at an apartment complex but this place is amazing!

It’s not too often I do an eviction at a property of this caliber! Though it’s been 34 years since I’ve lived in an apartment complex and have no desire to ever do so again, this place is amazing! This tenant is currently in jail for violently assaulting another resident of the complex. Nice place to live if you can afford it!
