The Village of Green Springs council will hold a public hearing, before a regular scheduled council meeting, in the Municipal Building Council Room, 120 Catherine Street, Green Springs, Ohio 44836, at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, June 1,2026. The public hearing will be held to consider the application for variance from Nate Kohlenberg regarding his property at 415 E Adams St. Green Springs, Ohio 44836, Parcel No. A0500004360000. Mr. Kohlenberg is requesting a variance from the six-foot setback requirement for a shed he is going to build.

If there are any questions, comments or concerns on this matter, you can call the Zoning Inspector at 419-603-1328 and/or address any at the public hearing meeting.

Hydrant Flushing Starting on May 26, 2026, and continuing into June. Hydrant flushing is needed for the following reasons:
- To assess the integrity of the water system
- To remove sediments from water mains, enhancing water quality
- To verify that hydrants, valves, and water flow are operable for firefighting needs
- To identify maintenance needs

Residents may experience:
- Discolored water as iron and mineral sediments are stirred up. This is a normal occurrence. Water is safe to consume during flushing but may stain laundry. If water is discolored, run COLD water until the water is clear.
- Temporary fluctuations in water pressure and flow

The Village of Green Springs would like to address a recent post circulating on the Clyde Community Talk page. The information presented in that post is misleading and appears to have been generated to attract attention rather than accurately inform the public.

Earlier today, the Village experienced a wastewater overflow event at its treatment facility. This type of event, while understandably concerning to residents, is not uncommon during periods of heavy rainfall and is managed in accordance with strict regulatory standards established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

These overflows are typically caused by Inflow and Infiltration (I&I)—a condition in which groundwater and stormwater enter the sanitary sewer system during significant rain events, temporarily exceeding system capacity. The system is designed to safely manage these conditions to protect infrastructure and minimize environmental impact.

When an overflow occurs, the Village is required to follow a series of mandated protocols, including:

* Collection and analysis of water samples within a specified timeframe
* Notification to the appropriate regulatory agencies
* Public notification in accordance with state and federal guidelines

The Village of Green Springs remains committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and the continued improvement of our wastewater infrastructure. We actively monitor our systems and pursue long-term solutions to reduce inflow and infiltration and enhance system performance.

Residents are encouraged to rely on official Village communications for accurate and timely information.
