🚨New Member Alert: Ryder Norman🚨

In his very first week with the department, Ryder attended a county training and helped tackle a complicated early-morning semi-trailer fire. Nothing like getting thrown straight into the fire!

We’re excited to have Ryder on the team and can’t wait to see the firefighter he becomes.

Thanks to Utah Fire and Rescue Academy / UFRA, the Emery County Training Committee, and everyone who attended today’s training! Firefighters spent the morning in the Emergency Apparatus Driving Simulator and the afternoon trying their best not to turn cones into victims. 🚒

🎉 We’d like to thank State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council for selecting the Green River Fire Department as a recipient of the 2026 Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program grant! 🎉

More than 60% of our calls involve responses on the highway, where traffic creates an additional risk for our firefighters and other responding agencies. This grant will allow us to improve highway scene safety with new reflective traffic cones, directional lighting, scene lighting, high-visibility PPE and more.

It has been a difficult week for the wildland firefighting community. Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and fellow crew members of those we have recently lost, as well as with the firefighters who continue to battle the flames each day.

Thank you to the National Volunteer Fire Council and DripDrop for selecting the Green River Fire Department to receive a donation of hydration packets. With Green River experiencing 100+ degree days, this generous donation couldn’t have come at a better time. We truly appreciate your support in helping keep our firefighters hydrated.
