***UPDATE-Naomi has been located safely!***

*********************

On April 8, 2026, Naomi Cernik was reported missing by her family after they discovered she was not home and could not be reached by phone. Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded and began an investigation. Since then, CCSO has received numerous tips regarding possible sightings and locations for Naomi, and we are actively following up on each one.

Naomi is a 16-year-old girl and was last seen at her home in Middleburg at approximately 11:30 p.m. on April 7, 2026.

Our investigative efforts have led us to believe Naomi left her home, stopped at the nearby Circle K at the intersection of CR220 and Henley Road, returned home and then left again.

With the assistance of multiple partner agencies, search efforts have continued across residences, businesses, wooded areas, and waterways.

We are grateful for our partnership with the Clay County Fire Rescue Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Union Correctional Institution, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for providing resources and assistance in this large-scale investigation.

As we continue to pursue every investigative lead, we are asking our community members to remain vigilant. Please check your properties and review any video surveillance for potential signs of Naomi. Your assistance could be critical in helping to bring her home safely.

Our deputies and detectives will work throughout the weekend and follow-up on all leads as our search for Naomi continues
