Please help us in congratulating Capt. Dustin Ridings on his retirement. Today marks his last day of service to the City of Green Bay, the Village of Allouez, Village of Bellevue and the Oneida Nation. He served decades in several capacities throughout the department including being an active member of our honor guard where he also previously held the title of commander. His leadership shaped the path of our honor guard for years to come. He tirelessly gave of himself to pay tribute to our fallen and help their families with honor, respect, and compassion. Congratulations Capt. Ridings!

We would like to express our gratitude for the assistance we received from the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin Honor Guard, Wisconsin Fire and EMS Memorial Honor Guard, Green Bay Police Department and various pipes and drums from across the state with the funeral for our brother Lt. Tyler Kreiter. Individuals from fire departments including Hobart, Volk Field, Suamico, Sheboygan, Tisch Mills, Wausau, Oshkosh, Racine, Fond du Lac, Neenah-Menasha, Two Rivers, Lake Mills, the Greater Milwaukee Fire and Police Pipes and Drums, and the Ss. Florian and Michael Society Pipes and Drums all pitched in to provide honors to our brother. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your selfless dedication was immeasurable and appreciated.

As we prepare to say goodbye to our Brother Tyler Kreiter the Green Bay Area Firefighters Honor Guard are keeping Tyler and his family in our thoughts and prayers. Rest easy Tyler, thank you for the years of friendship and laughter.

Our hearts are heavy, as we announce the Line of Duty Death of one of our very own. Engineer/Paramedic Tyler Kreiter passed away Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at the age of 43 years old. Tyler truly was one of a kind, and his devotion to his family and community could not be matched. A quote from our department's post stated "Tyler exemplified what it means to be a Green Bay Metro Firefighter. The courage and determination he displayed in the performance of his duties were outmatched only by his spirit in his fight against cancer." We could not agree more with this statement. As a second family, we have spent the last 3 years by his side watching his heroic battle against cancer. We have supported him and his amazing family in every way possible, and we know that he fought for everyone until the very end. Please keep Engineer Tyler Kreiter and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this tough and trying time. Rest easy Brother, we will take it from here...
