November FoodShare (SNAP) Benefits have now been loaded onto families’ QUEST cards for use. I never thought in all my years advocating for children that we would see a day where our President would need to be forced with a legal ruling to provide basic food benefits to 42 million vulnerable people. Judge McConnell said it best in the hearing, “This should never happen in America.”

📢📢 UPDATE 📢📢 Two federal judges have ruled the Trump administration is breaking the law. When it comes to FoodShare benefits, Congress intentionally set aside $5.3 billion for emergency situations like this. The money must be used so millions of Americans don't starve. It's unfortunately possible the White House will try to appeal the decision. I believe the President should follow the law and allow FoodShare benefits to be disbursed for November.

I'm hearing a lot from folks who are concerned about the impending loss of FoodShare benefits. I held a press conference yesterday with Senator Wall, Alder Proffitt, and Selena Darrow, founder & president of Rooted In. Very glad our local stations are covering this. My goal is to connect folks in need with local food pantries, and to encourage people to donate TODAY if they can.

Pantries like St. Joseph’s Food Program are already seeing an increase in visitors, serving over 700 people this week, 100 more than the week before.

I'm honestly struggling to find the right words. We live in the richest country in the world, but millions of Americans are about to go hungry. We have money for a GOLDEN ballroom in Washington, but not for struggling families in Green Bay?? If you can, please make a donation to a local food bank. I'd recommend any of the organizations in this story or from my post yesterday.

The state recommends FoodShare users stock up on food before the end of October as pantries prepare for surge.

It's ridiculous that Donald Trump is building a $300 million gold ballroom in the middle of a government shutdown. At the same time, millions of Americans could lose their FoodShare benefits at the end of the week. My office has put together this list of resources for folks in need. If you're in a position to donate to one of these organizations, I'd encourage you to do so. The need is very real right now.

It's been a busy week in Madison! I had so much fun yesterday welcoming two classes of 4th graders from MacArthur Elementary. After their tour of the Capitol building, I showed them my office and introduced them to my team. Good luck with school everybody!! ✏️📘🖍📖👋

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department is proud to announce that members of our department were honored at the City of Green Bay Common Council meeting on October 21, 2025.

The department received the “2025 First Responder of the Year” award, selected by State Representative Ryan Spaude. This recognition highlights their dedication to public safety, planning, and overall operations during the 2025 NFL Draft.

My incredible team drove up from Madison for a "district work day." In the morning, we helped rake leaves as part of 2025 Rake Up Green Bay. The project connects volunteers with residents, often disabled, who need help keeping their yards clear 🍂🍁

I'm very proud of these guys. When you call or visit my office, they're the first people you meet! From left to right: our fellow Ella, intern Madie, myself, intern Jake, and my extraordinary legislative assistant Reece.

Every year, the Wisconsin Legislature celebrates First Responder Day by honoring the men & women who keep us safe. I was thrilled to recognize the Green Bay Metro Fire Department with Senator Wall. The department works tirelessly to prevent & respond to fires. They also played an important role in pulling off a successful NFL Draft. Congratulations to Chief Knott and his crew!

There's no place like the Pancake Place 🥞🥞 For nearly 50 years, they've been serving award-winning breakfasts on Green Bay's west side. Senator Wall and I recognized them yesterday. The news has been very heavy & negative over the past couple weeks. It was great to share some positivity and highlight an incredible family-run business!

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A beloved breakfast place and staple of Green Bay was officially recognized and honored by state legislators on Friday morning. The Pancake Place, which has been arou…
