Main Issues facing Alderman
The current Budget is raising our taxes yet again and doesn't fix any of the problems we face as a city. It's full of the mayor's ideology instead of what Green Bay residents need. Why do we need 138% increase to elections when we don't have the reciprocal data for an increase in voters? What shady side deals is the mayor pulling this election? Taxes are going up at 7.04% across the board. Every area of the budget has been increased except miscellaneous items they don't detail and a duplicate law dv. Even the property valuation has gone up and instead of spending that they want to raise our taxes!
In most of our District we can't walk down the Streets at night and have a lit path. The Lighting on the east side is dismal at best. The safety of our citizens should be a priority for the council, but nothing ever gets done. People don't feel safe walking at night. Crime is done in the shadows. They want to correct me every time i say crime has gone up. They have their projections saying crime will be down this year 13% city wide, what they always refuse to talk about is how most of the crime in the city is done in District 4 and goes unreported because either the police won't or can't do anything about it. And some of the crimes committed they refuse to keep track of. Gun shot ring our around the city, drug deals are done every day outside my house and the surrounding areas in broad daylight, we get to watch homelss have s*x in the parks down by St Johns or in the laundry mat on Webster. This is thanks to west coast policies brought to the midwest. It funny that the Chief says he is applying everything he learned in Portland to Green Bay, Im sorry I dont want a CHAZ/CHOP set up so we can watch our city burn. Absolutely nobody wants to talk about crime because people from the city will try to correct them with cherry picked facts. Who cares. Let them try, it's simple, we live it every day. We all don't live in their precious Aster Park. We live in the areas they don't care about.
We have a homeless crisis in Green Bay, which is multiplying at a rate like the west coast, can't keep happening. We need to develop a plan for the homeless we have and to keep future homeless from coming. We as a city caused the problem and now need to fix it. We need to be proactive in finding root causes and swiftly come to a solution.
Crime has skyrocketed since I moved to the city 8 years ago. I coached baseball with a local city cop and asked him what the largest problem in Green Bay was, he told me we didn't have any! He was right. We had on average 1 murder and 2 assaults and some petty property crime or damage. Our parks were clean and free of homelessness where our kids could play. Now they are filled with needles and undesirables. Bullets ring out at all hours of the day and night. People are accosted and threatened with violence, and nobody seems to be bothered enough to report on it let alone send a patrol car until after it's done.
Everyone I've encountered that is a voter wants to hear the same thing. They are not wrong. The roads, the roads, the roads! Our roads are terrible. It almost seems cliche to talk about how bad our roads are, but our roads are Terrible. We literally have repaired Webster Ave. Twice since I've lived here. We need accountability to what we spend our money on.
That leads to my biggest reason for running for Alderman. I want sunset clauses on every bill proposed by the council. This is the single most important issue we face as a city. There should never be any permanent tax imposed on the citizenship of Green Bay. We have a ton of issues ranging from drugs, violence, homelessness, guns and roads, none of which are more important that the taxed imposed on us from a radical left-wing mayor who want to fund his left-wing Ideology and pet projects. We have the ability to limit spending even when not in the majority. Sunset clauses. Sunset clauses force a vote to retain a tax after a certain number of years negotiated into the bill. If the vote to extend fails, then the tax goes away and the citizen wins!
If all else fails, remember my creed. God Country Family. We are here to make a better America and in doing so have to be selfless, leaders aren't born, they are forged Through trial and error we have been forced to put ourselves above all and sacrifice for the greater good! I love my family, but our country is more important.
Vote for someone who actually cares about the issues facing our district, not someone with posterboy speeches and talking points, not for the leftwing ideology, not for the every which way the wind blows. vote for someone who will name the problems and wants to fix the!
