Our facility offers a safe, peaceful “home away from home” where guests can cook meals, launder clothes, watch television, access WiFi, chat with staff and other guests, or just enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in the privacy of their own room. Guests make arrangements to stay through the contact person/case manager at the hospital/facility where they are staying. Hospital personnel or guests are able to call the Altrusa House to check availability. Guests bring the Altrusa House Referral Form (signed at the hospital) to the house.

It’s another Thankful Thursday, and today we’re celebrating the Altrusa Club of Green Bay members who support our mission each month by preparing a meal. Mary and Theresa once again embodied the heart of our mission. Their annual breakfast for our guests this week was a living example of altruism—serving with generosity, dignity, and genuine care. Thank you—we’re grateful beyond measure!

THANKFUL THURSDAY!
HSHS recently hosted their second annual Nurse Leader Wellspring event in Green Bay, bringing together nurse leaders from across their Wisconsin market. In the midst of their daily commitment to caring for their teams and patients, they took a moment to pause, recharge, and invest in their own wellbeing.

Carrying that spirit of service forward, they brought donations of snacks, gift cards, and contributions to our $25 for 25 Years Celebration. We are grateful to the HSHS WI nurse leaders for bringing their care beyond the bedside and into our community!

The lilacs are fading and the weeds are waking up, which means it’s Garden Gurus season at AHH. No green thumb needed—just a willing heart. Volunteer times are flexible and the impact is immediate. Interested or have questions, email Diane at [email protected] or call 920.884.6677.

Along with garden help, we’re hoping to restock our supply of individually bottled or canned water and soda. These simple items make a big difference for guests navigating long days. Donations may be dropped off at 1116 E. Mason St., Monday–Friday, 8–12 or 4–8.

For 25 years, Altrusa Hospitality House has been a place where guests find kindness, comfort and community. What began as a simple promise — to offer connection, dignity, and a welcoming space for families facing medical uncertainty — has grown into a quarter‑century of compassion in action.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we’ll be sharing the story of our origin, the legacy built by countless hands and hearts, and the vision that will guide Altrusa Hospitality House into its next chapter.

As we embark on the rest of this anniversary year, we’ll be offering meaningful opportunities to support our mission by Planting Kindness, Growing Community, and Harvesting Comfort. Each theme reflects the purpose that guides us each day.

Please help us begin the celebration with a $25 for 25 Years Plant Kindness donation—a simple yet powerful way for friends, partners, and neighbors to honor 25 years of hospitality and hope. For every $25 gifted, a seed will be planted in our growing garden, and your kindness will help provide snacks, beverages, and support toward a night’s stay for our guests. https://altrusahousegreenbay.app.neoncrm.com/forms/planting-kindness-25-for-25

Kindness blooms here every day through the hearts of our volunteers and donors.

Grateful - to the students from Notre Dame Academy who recently spent their annual NDA Serves day at AHH — sharing their time and energy to organize donations and provide a little spring clean‑up.

Thankful - for 100 Women Giving Back Northwoods and their recent donation drive, collecting items that help make the house a home for our guests. Your continued support of our mission is a beautiful reminder of how community care creates comfort for every family who walks through our doors.

Inspired - by the Greater Green Bay Chamber Young Professionals "Connections With a Cause" event, bringing together young professionals and local nonprofits for an evening of service. Attendees filled snack bags and wrote thoughtful notes for our guests — small gestures that make a big difference.

These acts of service reflect the kindness, comfort, and community that sustain our mission every day.

So excited for this journey! We hope you'll join us along the way!

"Community" — Cultivating kindness and connection among guests, volunteers, and local non-profit organizations. Our partnership with Aspiro reflects this spirit as we regularly welcome their clients into our kitchen to practice cooking, baking, and kitchen safety. We’re honored to be a small part of their clients’ journey as they build skills, confidence, and the independence to “live life their way”.

At Altrusa Hospitality House, Comfort, Kindness and Community are made real through the hands and hearts of our volunteers. Whether preparing meals, doing yardwork, assisting with events, decorating for the holidays, creating handcrafted quilts, visiting with service dog Gideon, or providing governance and administrative support, each volunteer helps us create a true home‑away‑from‑home for every guest.
During Volunteer Week, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared their time and talents this past year in support of our mission.
