When you are in and around the Green Bay Legends District in Green Bay you will likely hear the echoes of stories about, and see a monument to a long forgotten and hidden architect of the Lombardi Glory Years, Jack Vainisi.

Glory Years legends have spoken in reverence of Vainisi in tandem with their Coach Lombardi. Many Hall of Fame players from Green Bay have said Vainisi deserved more recognition for his significant contributions to the game of football.

Not only did Vainisi pay a pivotal role in persuading Lombardi to come to Green Bay to coach, his relentless scouting and stratehic acquisitions of players produced more than a dozen players ftom Green Bay who would later have busts in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame...all in a ten year time period in a series of roles he played behind the scened as scout, personnel director and business manager for Packers.

Unfortunately, Jack Vainsi died in 1960 before the seeds he had planted came to fruition in the historic rise of teams during the Lombardi Glory Years to five world football championship.victories producing the NFL's most legendary and iconic moments in the first two SuperBowls and Ice Bowl.

This is a wonderful, informative interview with David Maraniss, the first in a four- part educational series that shares historical information and first-hand interviews about the life and legacy of the late Jack Vainisi, the Hidden Architect of the Lombardi Glory Years.

Jack Vainusi has been nominated for the 2027 Class of Pro Football Hall of Fame Candidates in the Contributor category.

Jack's brother Sam, 95, his daughter, Val and the Vainisi family have joined together with football fans, football draft historians, authors, Packers legends and NFL historians to collectively chronicle and share information about the timeless legacy and historic contributions by Vainisi to the Packers and game of football. If you would like others to know more about this legend who passed before his contributions were realized or recognized, please share this link and upcoming links to interviews and articles.
