Another fantastic Coffee, Culture, and Conversations at Kavarna Coffeehouse in the books!💚✨

Thank you to the community members and students who joined us on Saturday! We love getting to spend time together, meeting new friends, and creating a brave space for all🫶

We'll be back with our next session on November 14th! Email Sierra Susa at [email protected] to RSVP💚💚

Thank you to NBC 26 for shining a light on our programs! Despite all challenges, we always strive to lead with how proud we are of our students and the work that we do💚💚

Literacy Green Bay lost $60K in federal funding, cutting childcare and classes while 300+ immigrants wait for enrollment. Click below 👇 to read more.

Please help us in thanking Pages and Pours for their recent generosity!👏👏

In celebration of International Literacy Day, Pages and Pours put aside 50% of net profits in book sales during the month of September to directly support Literacy Green Bay programming. Yesterday, we received a $750 check from this effort! WOW!🥳

We are incredibly grateful for the support of Pages and Pours. Thank you once again! Without supporters like Pages and Pours, we wouldn't be able to build community one word at a time💚💚

Did you know that 68% of Literacy Green Bay students identify as Hispanic?✨😮

Here at Literacy Green Bay, we celebrate Hispanic heritage this month, and every month. We recognize and greatly appreciate the contributions of the Hispanic community within our nation's history. We are proud to be a part of the journey for some members of our local Hispanic community, and an active supporter for all.

With a little over one week left, how have you celebrated and recognized Hispanic Heritage Month?💚🎉

Congratulations to Alexis, our ELL Class Program Manager!!🎉👏💚

Yesterday, Alexis was honored with the 2026 Distinguished Service Award at this year's Forward Conference hosted in partnership with Wisconsin Literacy and the Correctional Education Association! This award is presented yearly to an outstanding service provider/administrator of adult education, and we couldn't agree more.

Read a little bit about what our Development & Communications Coordinator submitted for her nomination: Alexis has tirelessly served the refugee and immigrant communities of Green Bay through our English Language Learning classes. Working her way up to becoming the ELL Class Program manager, she has always been fully dedicated to the mission of our organization and the people we serve. Alexis has brought innovation to the position through working closely with our students to see what they need the most in order to be comfortable and confident in the learning environment. By getting to know hundreds of students personally, she strives to create connection that keeps them accountable and returning to class each week.

Congratulations to Alexis once again! We are so proud, and incredibly grateful to have a team member like her.💚👏

We've had a busy month at Literacy Green Bay!🤗💚

We attended:
- Community Resource Tuesday at the Central branch of Brown County Library
- Fall Volunteer Expo with Volunteer Center of Brown County
- Schreiber Foods Employee Volunteer Fair
- Notre Dame de la Baie Academy Student Involvement Fair

Because of these opportunities, we were able to reach so many new people about the work that we do at Literacy Green Bay and how they can get involved👏👏

Thank you to our Volunteer Coordinator, Laura, and Development & Communications Coordinator, Grace, for spending time at all of these events!

✨ WE’RE EXTENDING THE BOOK DRIVE! ✨
You asked, and the Gnomes listened! 💗

Our Give Like Dolly book drive was originally planned for Friday, September 25—but we’ve decided that one day of giving just isn’t enough!

🎉 THE BOOK DRIVE IS NOW HAPPENING ALL WEEKEND! 🎉

That means you have Friday, Saturday AND Sunday to bring your book donations to Gnome Games and help us support our local libraries and literacy programs!

Have a book to donate? Bring it in!
Have a whole stack? Even better!
Want to shop while you’re here? We certainly won’t stop you! 😉

Let’s keep those books coming and spread a little more Dolly-style generosity throughout our communities. 💖

The book drive has been extended. The Gnomes are ready. Let’s GIVE LIKE DOLLY! ✨
