Katherine Johnson Academy of Enriched Virtual Learning

Katherine Johnson Academy of Enriched Virtual Learning Katherine Johnson Academy of Enriched Virtual Learning (4K-7) is an all virtual learning experience. Visit gbaps.org/gbapsonline for more information.

KJ Academy follows the District’s school calendar, the Board’s grading policy, and is open to students receiving special education or English Learner services. Students receive instruction in reading, writing, math, social studies, science, social/emotional learning, math and literacy interventions, physical education, art and music. Technology: Students will receive a Chromebook or iPad, dependin

g on the grade level. If internet service is needed, a hotspot will be distributed to the student. Unique Aspects to District’s Online Learning Model: KJ Academy (4K-6) has a physical location. Teachers will have instructional studios that will enable them to provide a high quality educational experience for students. In addition, this will provide an opportunity for teachers to collaborate with one another. Space will also be provided for in-person individual or small group instruction to assist students in curricular areas where they may be struggling to learn online. This will also allow for students who may need services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, etc., to also enroll in online learning. Having a physical location will allow for parent/teacher conferences and other meetings to be held in-person. ENROLL NOW: To enroll in KJ Academy, families need to complete the intra-district transfer process.

April is National Bilingual and Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month! The Green Bay Area Public School District recognizes this time to celebrate the incredible benefits of multilingualism and raise awareness about language learning across our community. More than 40 different languages are represented among our 18,000+ students.

GBAPS is proud to honor and promote the Seal of Biliteracy, a nationally-recognized credential that celebrates students who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one additional language. This recognition not only affirms academic achievement but also opens doors to expanded opportunities in college, career, and beyond. 120 GBAPS students have graduated with the Seal of Biliteracy since it was first offered in the 2022-2023 school year.
