Look, I don't care if it's still supposed to be almost 90° here in Greeley today... as I was sitting in the drive-thru ordering my 8th Spicy Pumpkin Chai of the week, it hit me: we need to get the entire community in the fall spirit, whether the weather wants to cooperate or not!

So, after much consideration (and zero official budget approval), I'm proud to introduce: Pumpkin Spice Handcuffs!

📰E-Biker Dead in Collision with Semi📰

GREELEY, Colo. – On Friday, September 4, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Greeley Police officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of 11th Avenue and 10th Street.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 58-year-old man driving a semi-truck was traveling northbound on 11th Avenue and turning eastbound onto 10th Street. As the semi-truck turned, a 32-year-old man riding an e-bike accelerated to pass the truck unlawfully on its right side in the same lane. The front passenger side of the semi-truck subsequently struck the e-cyclist.

First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office pending next-of-kin notification.

No charges are currently pending against the driver of the semi-truck.

One eastbound lane of 10th Street was closed for approximately six hours while officers investigated.

The Windsor Police Department has arrested Braden Michael Gilloth (25), of Greeley, Colorado, on 56 felony counts of possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

On June 15, 2026, the Windsor Police Department received a cybertip through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) database identifying a Windsor address associated with the possession or downloading of CSAM.

Following a thorough investigation conducted by Windsor Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), detectives identified a suspect and determined that, while the cybertip originated at a Windsor address, Gilloth had moved to Greeley prior to the investigation’s start.

A search warrant was executed at Gilloth’s residence, where detectives obtained additional digital evidence supporting charges related to the possession of CSAM.

On August 27, 2026, Gilloth was taken into custody without incident for the following charges:
-56 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child—Possession, CRS 18-6-403, a Class 5 Felony.

This arrest is the result of collaboration between the Greeley Police Department, the Weld County District Attorney’s Office, and the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

As a member of the ICAC Task Force, the Windsor Police Department is committed to investigating crimes involving the s*xual exploitation of children and identifying individuals who possess or distribute CSAM.

All charges are merely an accusation, and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless, proven guilty. No other details will be released at this time.

The Greeley Fire Department has completed the origin-and-cause investigation into the residential structure fire that occurred on September 2 at 1416 102nd Avenue within the City of Greeley.

Greeley Fire Department investigators determined the fire originated inside the attached garage near a 240-volt wall outlet and an extension cord being used to power an electric-vehicle (EV) charger.

The investigation found no evidence that the vehicle or its high-voltage battery caused or contributed to the fire.

The fire has been classified as accidental and was caused by an electrical failure involving the equipment used to power the EV charger.

The Greeley Fire Department reminds residents to follow manufacturer recommendations when charging electric vehicles and to use electrical equipment, outlets, and charging systems in accordance with applicable safety requirements. Extension cords should only be used when specifically approved for the intended application and load.

The Greeley Fire Department would like to thank the responding agencies and investigators for their work in extinguishing the fire and determining its origin and cause.

At approximately 7:00p.m on September 2, 2026., Greeley Fire Department units responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 1400 block of 102nd Avenue in Greeley. While en route, crews observed a large column of smoke and requested a second-alarm response.
On arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions at the front of the home. Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack, entered the residence to conduct primary searches, and continued suppression efforts to bring the fire under control.
There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries. Firefighters safely removed one cat from the residence.
Greeley Fire Department was assisted by Evans Fire District ,Front Range Fire Rescue , Windsor Severance Fire Rescue , UCHealth EMS, and Greeley Police.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Greeley Police and Greeley Fire Department - Greeley, Colorado are on scene at a house fire in the 1400 block of 102nd Avenue.

The fire is now under control, but emergency personnel remain heavily active. Please keep away from the area to allow crews space to work.

Edgar Sotelo-Gutierrez, 44, was reported missing by family to the Greeley Police Department in June 2026.

He has not been seen or heard from since June 13, 2026.

I know, I JUST posted for National Dog Day last week… but honestly, who doesn’t love seeing more dogs on their feed? Especially when they’re our very own four-legged heroes, Onyx and Odin!

These two are far more than just loyal companions (and local celebrities). They are essential members of our team. Day in and day out, Onyx and Odin put their noses, speed, and courage to work tracking missing persons, locating critical evidence, and keeping our officers and community safe.

When the call comes, they step up without hesitation. And when the shift ends? They’re still just good doggies with boopable snoots who love a solid head scratch and a game of fetch.

📰Man Arrested for Criminal Mischief at Northridge High School📰

GREELEY, Colo. – On Thursday, August 26, at approximately 11:00p.m., Greeley Police officers responded to the Northridge High School following reports of a vehicle driving in circles on the school’s grass lawn. Greeley Police officers arrived to find the vehicle gone, but damage was estimated at approximately $15,000.

The Greeley Police Department collaborated with District 6 school security and obtained school security video to identify the vehicle's make and model. Greeley Police also reviewed multiple traffic cameras in the area and generated an investigative lead with the assistance of our Flock Automated License Plate Reader. With the assistance of Police Department technology, officers identified the driver as Fabian Gomez-Torres, 18, of Eaton.

Gomez-Torres was booked into the Weld County Jail on charges of felony criminal mischief and reckless driving.

📰Drugs Suspected in Double Fatal Traffic Crash📰

GREELEY, Colo. – On Sunday, August 30, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Greeley Police officers responded to the intersection of Highway 34 and Weld County Road 17 on reports of a traffic collision.

According to witness reports, an eastbound Toyota RAV4 was driving erratically on Highway 34 and passing vehicles on the shoulder. Upon approaching a red traffic light at Weld County Road 17, the driver used the right shoulder to bypass stopped traffic and entered the intersection at a high rate of speed, running the red light. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Jesse Andersen of Denver, broadsided a northbound Toyota Corolla.

Both the male driver and female passenger of the northbound vehicle were declared dead at the scene. Their identities will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office Pending next of kin notification.

Immediately after the crash, Andersen barricaded himself inside his vehicle. Officers intervened, removed Andersen from the vehicle, and secured him for transport to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. He was subsequently booked into Weld County Jail on two counts of vehicular homicide, reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs.

Westbound traffic on Highway 34 between WCR 17 and State Highway 257 was shut down for approximately five hours.
