UNC Veterans Services UNC Veterans Services provides a supportive environment for our Veteran, Active Duty, Reservist, Guard, and dependent students while pursuing their degree.

We understand that we are not successful unless our military students are successful. That is why we strive to provide a supportive environment for our military students (Veterans, dependents, Active Duty,Reserve, and Guard). We accomplish this mission by serving as a liaison and advocate for our military student community, providing the appropriate resources, and giving each student the individua

l attention they deserve. This focus gives our military students every opportunity to reach their social and educational goals, allowing for the greatest potential of success in the civilian world.

Updated Hours for May 15-26! 🙈

Due to some front yard construction and loud noises, Veterans Services will be located in the (much quieter) second floor of the University Center in the Dean of Students’ office this week — Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. 🙉 We still have our phone and email on hand though, so don’t hesitate to reach out. 🙊

Friday and Monday we’ll be closed, then we shall return to the Cottage for normal operations on Monday, May 26th! See you around!!! 🐒

We’ll do our best to keep our socials updated, but give us a call before you swing by to make sure someone is here to help. Thanks!! 🐵

New season, new schedule! ☀️ Our summer hours are officially in effect here at UNC Veterans Services. If you’re planning to stop by, please give us a call or send an email beforehand so we know you’re coming.

Our Summer Hours:
• Monday – Thursday: 0900 – 1700
• Friday: 0900 – 1300
• Weekends: Closed

Note: We are closed for all University holidays, and hours are subject to change without notice.

Veteran of the Week: SGT Alex Cramer ⭐️

“I wanted to create some ‘Dad lore’ for my future kids. To me, Veteran Services is full of people from different walks of life—it’s like having a bunch of siblings.” — SGT Alex Cramer

For the last 9 years, SGT Cramer has served with the 1-157th Mountain Division right here in Colorado. As an Infantryman, his roles have ranged from Battalion Radio Operator to 240 Gun Team Leader, including a deployment to Djibouti and participating in Triglav Star in Slovenia. 🏔️️
While he’s currently studying Sports Exercise Science with an emphasis on Physical Therapy, Alex has spent the last 3 years being a cornerstone of the Cottage. He’s held nearly every role imaginable, from Chief of Operations and Chief of Engagement to Lead Su***de Prevention Coordinator and SVA President.
This is Alex’s final week with Veteran Services, and while we are incredibly proud of his next chapter, his leadership and presence will be greatly missed. Thank you for everything, SGT Cramer!

Miltary-Connected Student: Ella ⭐️

Ella’s connection to the military comes through her father, Jason, a veteran with over 20 years of Army service. Jason’s elite career evolved from Infantryman and Special Forces Medic to a commissioned PT. With multiple deployments to Afghanistan, he concluded his service as the Chief of Physical Therapy at the Pentagon.

Inspired by a household defined by high level dedication, Ella is now a Junior at UNC studying Communications and Digital Marketing. She values UNC Veterans Services for providing a supportive space where military-connected students can find camaraderie with those who truly understand their background.

Come join the UNC Veteran Services for 22 Alive! This is a veteran su***de awareness event aimed at challenging your body physically and mentally to honor those 22 veterans that commit su***de daily. We will be located at the UNC Campus Rec Center starting March 28th from 10am to 2pm. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
