Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) highlights the importance of making digital spaces accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities. From websites and mobile apps to online services and communication tools, accessibility helps ensure equal access in today’s digital world.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) supports these same principles by promoting equal access and nondiscrimination. As technology continues to become part of everyday life, digital accessibility plays an increasingly important role in creating inclusive experiences for all.

GAAD serves as a reminder that accessibility extends beyond physical spaces — it also includes captions, screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, readable content, and accessible online services.

This week's podcast guest is Sam Schmidt - a former IndyCar driver, championship team owner, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Since becoming a quadriplegic due to a testing crash, Sam was determined to keep racing. In turn, he founded Sam Schmidt Motorsports and Conquer Paralysis Now that funds research and operates rehabilitation centers that provides physical and emotional support. This year, we are celebrating a milestone, the 250th Anniversary of the adoption of Declaration of Independence as well as the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
