Celebrate Pride Month with the University Libraries! Pride Month displays can be found at both libraries this month.

Did you know that we also have a digital guide dedicated to q***r library resources? Visit the link in our bio, scroll down to our DEI Resources section, and click on the Q***r Library Resources link!

Pride Month is celebrated annually to commemorate the Stonewall Riots that began on June 28th, 1969. This month is a time of celebration for the LGBTQIA+ community and serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the enduring global impact the community has had.

While the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights continues to this day, this month is dedicated to recognizing the challenges of the past and embracing a hopeful outlook for the future.

Image Description:
The background is light gray. In the foreground is the text, "Happy Pride Month," which is in rainbow lettering to match the Progress Pride Flag. Beneath is more text that reads, "Now available at both Michener and Skinner Music Library!" At the bottom of the graphic is rainbow confetti and a pale purple callout cloud with text that reads, "Visit our Q***r Library Resources Guide! Link in bio!"

Three big benefits of OER (Open Educational Resources) that truly make a difference:

#1 - Accessible, adaptable materials for all learners. No waiting for shipping. No, “I’ll get the book next week.” Every student has the material on the first day of class.

#2 - Flexibility & Customization Faculty can adapt, remix, and update content to fit their course goals and student needs. Learning becomes more relevant, current, and inclusive.

#1 - Accessible, adaptable materials for all learners. No waiting for shipping. No “I’ll get the book next week.” Every student has the material on the first day of class.

OER aren’t just about free materials. They’re about equity, access, and empowering students to succeed.

Image Description:
An illustrated post titled, "3 Benefits of OER @ UNC." It shows three scenes: first, a group of diverse learners with the text "Accessible, adaptable materials for all learners." Second, a teacher speaking with two students next to the words "Empowers teachers to customize learning."
