to when Machinist’s Mate Nuclear 1st Class (MMN1) Alejandro Fregoso was the military honoree for the Chicago Cubs!

As Sailor of the Quarter, MMN1 Fregoso was selected to represent the U.S. Navy and NTAG Great Lakes at Wrigley Field on August 18. He was recognized on the field during the game for his outstanding performance and dedication.

The Navy was well represented at the Wisconsin State Fair!

Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class (AD2) Dannie George, Chief Boatswain’s Mate (BMC) Lawrence Duncan, and Cryptologic Technician Technical 1st Class (CTT1) Samantha Campbell manned the Navy recruiting booth at the Exposition Center on on one of the 11 days of the fair.

From 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., our recruiters connected with fairgoers, answered questions, and shared information about the opportunities available in the U.S. Navy.

Congratulations to ENS John Hickey on commissioning into the U.S. Navy as a Radiation Health Officer!

Hailing from Evanston, Illinois, ENS Hickey graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in Physics.

As a Radiation Health Officer, ENS Hickey will provide radiological safety support and guidance to Navy and Marine Corps activities, helping protect service members, the public, and the environment from exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

We wish ENS Hickey the best of luck as he heads to Officer Development School!

Navy Counselor 1st Class (NC1) David Hollins and Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class (AO2) Israel Jones represented the Navy at the recruiting booth during practice day of the Chicago Air and Water Show.

The annual event brings thousands of locals and visitors to Chicago’s lakefront to enjoy aerial performances, with Friday serving as a preview ahead of the weekend’s main events.

On the evening of the DTM, the command wrapped up the day with a friendly softball game that fostered teamwork, camaraderie, and a little friendly competition.

The game gave recruiters the chance to connect outside the workplace while enjoying time on the field. From big hits to great defensive plays, the evening was filled with laughter, encouragement, and camaraderie.

Culinary Specialist 1st Class (CS1) Bayasgalan Munkhmandah was recognized as the Chicago Cubs military honoree on August 16.

As part of the recognition, CS1 Munkhmandah received a signed baseball from Cubs pitcher Ryan Rolison and his own box at Wrigley Field.

A big thank you to the Chicago Cubs for recognizing and honoring our Sailors!

On Monday, Chief Petty Officer Selects and the Chief’s Mess from NTAG Great Lakes, NTAG Mid America, and RTAG Northwest, along with other commands from Naval Station Great Lakes, gathered in downtown Chicago for Chief Petty Officer Heritage Day.

Despite steady rain, the Chief Selects and Chiefs marched through Chicago, visiting various memorials and historic landmarks while learning about their significance and honoring those who served and sacrificed.

The day celebrated the heritage, history, leadership and camaraderie of Chief Petty Officers, concluding at Soldier Field with Chief Selects signing charge books and gathering for a final photo.

Last month, NTAG Great Lakes was at the Chicago Job Fair, connecting with job seekers and sharing career opportunities in the U.S. Navy.

Yeoman 1st Class (YN1) Clifford Nobles represented officer recruiting, while Operations Specialist 1st Class (OS1) Coriesha Wilson and Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class (AM1) Alejandro Henriquez represented enlisted recruiting.

The team had the opportunity to speak with attendees about the wide range of career paths and opportunities available in the Navy.
