Malmstrom Airmen put deployment skills to the test.

Last week, Malmstrom Airmen put their readiness to the test during the Ready Airman Training race. Open to all Airmen, the event challenged participants to think critically, communicate effectively and perform under pressure.

As the culminating event of Agile Lynx, a 341st Mission Support Group exercise focused on strengthening deployment readiness, teams navigated a 2.25-mile course while completing expeditionary tasks, including Tactical Combat Casualty Care, tactical communications, explosive hazard identification and fire suppression. Every obstacle tested the skills Airmen need to operate in contested environments and support the Air Force's mission whenever and wherever they're called.

⚠️ EXERCISE ADVISORY⚠️

The 341st Missile Wing will conduct a base-wide training exercise here Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The exercise is an opportunity for multiple agencies to practice contingency operations in response to a simulated incident on base. Visitors should expect delays at the gates, facility lockdowns, and traffic detours on base. There may also be increased alarms, sirens, notifications, and security measures during the exercise.

Malmstrom’s Defenders fire Mk 19 gr***de launchers.

841st Missile Security Forces Squadron Airmen completed required live-fire certification training on the Mk 19 gr***de launcher at Limestone Hills, Montana, strengthening crew-served weapons proficiency and combat readiness.

Combat Arms Training and Maintenance instructors evaluated Airmen on safe handling, accuracy, and weapons employment throughout the qualification process to ensure defenders meet mission standards.

Malmstrom Medical Group joins AFMEDCOM during 4th inter-command transfer

Effective June 29, 2026, the 341st Medical Group became Malmstrom Medical Group, marking a historic transition during Air Force Medical Command’s fourth inter-command transfer. The medical group officially realigned from Air Force Global Strike Command to Air Force Medical Command under the 359th Medical Wing and Medical Readiness Command-Alpha.

The transfer is part of an Air Force-wide effort to centralize medical command and build a more resilient, responsive, and unified operational medical force. Through AFMEDCOM, medical Airmen gain standardized training, resources, and capabilities to strengthen readiness and support evolving mission requirements.

The new structure also introduced the Malmstrom Operational Medical Readiness Squadron and Malmstrom Healthcare Operations Squadron, enhancing medical readiness support for Team Malmstrom.

🇺🇸 A new chapter begins for the 341st Missile Wing.

Today, Team Malmstrom welcomed Col. David Wyrick as commander of the 341st Missile Wing, where he leads Airmen, Guardians, and civilian professionals in delivering safe, secure, and effective strategic deterrence.

The ceremony also honored Col. Daniel Voorhies, outgoing 341 MW commander, as he relinquished command and will celebrate his retirement ceremony after 25 years of distinguished service to the nation. Thank you for your leadership and lasting impact on the mission.

We welcome Col. Wyrick to the 341st Missile Wing and look forward to what’s ahead as we continue delivering strategic deterrence for our nation.
