As more information continues to emerge from the tragic events in Billings, we have learned that a Billings Airport Firefighter lost his wife, children, and other family members in this heartbreaking tragedy.

His fellow firefighters have come together to support Adam and have established a GoFundMe to help him navigate the unimaginable days ahead.

Our brothers and sisters at Billings Local 521 faced incredibly difficult and tragic circumstances yesterday.

While responding to a structure fire, firefighters were met with gunfire coming from inside the residence. Information is still developing, but our thoughts and prayers are with the members of Local 521, their families, and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking incident.

Please keep our brothers and sisters in Billings in your thoughts as they navigate this difficult time.

MTPROFF Member Health Screening Opportunity

The Montana State Council of Professional Fire Fighters is partnering with United Diagnostic Services (UDS) to provide comprehensive ultrasound health screenings for members across Montana from August 10–19, 2026.

These painless, non-invasive screenings are designed to help detect potential health concerns early, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other serious conditions. Exams include multiple ultrasound screenings and take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

📍 Screening locations include Great Falls, Whitefish, Bonner, Helena, Butte, Belgrade, and Miles City.

⚠️ Pre-registration is required. Participants must fast for at least 8 hours prior to their appointment and follow hydration instructions provided during registration.

Your health is your most important piece of equipment—take advantage of this opportunity to invest in your long-term wellness.

One year ago today, we lost two of our brothers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Today, and every day, we honor Battalion Chief John Morrison and Battalion Chief Frank Harwood. Their courage and commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. We stand together, carrying their legacy forward.
